On Saturday with Cormac O'hEadhra on RTE Radio 1 (around 200,000 audience), the presenter allowed the education minister FG Hildegarde Naughton claim all special needs pupils had a place for September. And the Labour TD George Lawlor and SF TD Sorca Clarke allowed her get away with it.
There have been nearly 20 High Court applications in the past month by children to get special needs places. And this is frontpage news in the Examiner this Monday morning.
The RTE presenter is mediocre anyway, but because their programme @SaturdayRTE flounced off Twitter, their programme won't have seen the comment below. The Opposition politicians are hopeless.
In the past month (9 June to 10 July), around 19 children have separately had to initiate proceedings in the High Court against Hildegarde Naughton, the education minister, along with the National Council for Special Education. It's understood all of them are trying to secure school places.
If that is correct, then Hildegarde Naughton is fibbing her face off on RTE Radio, and neither the mediocre presenter nor the two Opposition politicians can challenge her.
And of course, @SaturdayRTE has flounced off Twitter. Frustrating.
