University degrees are not all about salaries. They are about learning to think differently and more carefully. Dispiriting discussion on bbc politics live which focussed entirely on earnings. Ok the financing is v important but the aim is not just a high paid job.

Turning a whole generation into the enemy. It's this sort of lazy judgement that makes me feel like giving up.
It's crazy that the richest group of people in the UK are in their 60-80's and they had everything for free, everything nationalised so it was cheap. And most of them now vote to make everything terrible for everyone else so they will never have it as good as them.

I don't suppose the people I've blocked will notice or care but at least I won't have to keep seeing their mean-spirited tweets.

This has to be good news for the health of the Nation.
There are now almost over twice as many Mosques in The UK as there are McDonald’s Restaurants. Yes it changed that quickly.

Well said @doctor_oxford
NHS doctor here, Rupert. If you'd checked your facts before this racist dogwhistle, you'd know that every NHS doctor can speak English - as proven by their IELTS proficiency (look it up... or are you just a populist hatemonger for whom facts don't matter?). Kindness may not solve everything, but my God the hate you spew is builds nothing, improves nothing, and only stokes division.

No matter how many times I watch it, it's such a big broadcasting accident that it makes me laugh all the time.

I lead two primary schools. Homework is inherently inequitable. Children should not need homework to succeed in their learning - the school day should be sufficient.

Seeing that I'm a pensioner as well as a self-funding PhD student, I hope the triple lock holds!

I know I've been retired for 8 years now but I taught primary for 40 and the plan to introduce even more screening fills me with dismay. No wonder our young people have mental health problems.
Government calls for 90% of children to be born in September. 🫣

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian. Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg during their conference. Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say? Let's keep growing: join.greenparty.org.uk

I condemn the genocide in Gaza, because it is the right thing to do. I condemn the anti-Semitic attacks in Manchester, because it is the right thing to do. Be wary of anyone justifying political violence of any kind. I condemn all acts of violence on all innocent people.

You can protest against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and unequivocally condemn the antisemitic terror attack in Manchester. Don’t let politicians or the media tell you that you can’t do both.

Every year I resolve to submit more poems and every year I lose confidence. Today, after an excellent workshop by @JamesoTrevelyan, of @EmmaPress, I have resolved to be more resilient.

Last night I saw Maxine Peak and Samuel Barnett in the @NottmPlayhouse production of 'The Last Stand of Mrs Mary Whitehouse. Excellent writing and acting. Brilliant!

Agreed
Farage will never speak for me, his policies will never be acceptable to me and his vile rhetoric will always sicken me. It’s about time that the media started representing this position as it’s a widespread one. #BrexitBoats #MoneyLaundering #Racist #Fascism
