Dear Mr. President,
Our government entered an agreement with the State of Michigan and Canadian taxpayers have fronted the cost to proceed with the Gordie Howe International Bridge in a spirit of goodwill and in the national security and economic interests of both countries.
9-11 showed that a closed border for even modest duration could cause two economies significant harm; and exposed that the Ambassador Bridge could be a future terrorist target. Redundancy and capacity for growth was in both countries' interests.
The process to determine a crossing location was both bi-national and bipartisan - begun by a GOP President and a Liberal Prime Minister. It was driven to funding and early construction by a GOP Governor and a Conservative Prime Minister, supported by a Democrat President.
And, I remind you construction began in earnest in your first term as President. Back then you called for expeditious construction of the Gordie.
(Trump, Trudeau call for 'expeditious' construction of Gordie Howe International Bridge | Crain's Detroit Business share.google/ZmrKjy7SuwnPNlZ…)
The bridge bears the name of someone beloved to both our countries - the late-Gordie Howe, Saskatchewan born and Motor City tough.
Finally, it is a matter of record that the Gordie required a Canadian push and US support, because of the outsized influence of one of your fellow billionaires, over US politicians, in an effort to derail the project.
Having been close to the file when I served in the House of Commons Canada, I intend to be there when the Gordie is open to the public. I hope you will be, too - and in the spirit of goodwill.

Today I had one of the most enjoyable meetings I’ve had in a long time.
Nine year old Hazel Mae from Braeside wrote me a handwritten letter after noticing Calgary’s new city entrance signs. She told me she thought they were “a little bit off.”
Her suggestion?
Instead of “Blue Sky City,” they should say: “Make Sure to Wear Pants!” 😂
Her reasoning was simple: Calgary gets super cold.
I couldn’t stop laughing when I read her letter, so I knew I had to stop by and meet her in person.
Thank you, Hazel, for taking the time to write a letter, share your idea, and remind all of us that some of the best ideas come from kids with big imaginations. It was such a pleasure meeting you!
And for the record… I’m not convinced she’s wrong. 😄❄️👖

It’s not a Sunday unless you completely waste it and then feel sad around 7:45pm.
I'm happy to share that I just got myself a brand new car!🚘 🤩🎉 I'd like to take this moment to thank my coach @coach_hannahrae for the guidance and support and guiding me every step of the way couldn’t have done this without her!📊💪🏾
The Premier took care of a flippant mayor's "concern" over rising alcohol prices just before Stampede.
The Alberta government has acted to reverse it.
Now over to you @JeromyYYC to reverse the joy killing #yycnoise restrictions on Cowboys.

Thank you Minister Dale Nally @DaleNally_AB for directing the AGLC to reverse their decision to increase the minimum pricing for alcohol sold at bars and restaurants. This will provide business and Albertans with greater certainty and consistency.
Our hospitality and liquor industry play a key role in Alberta’s economy and we’re proud to support them and the great work they do providing unique experiences for Albertans and visitors alike.
Love this so much!
Moments like these are why I helped deliver funding to build Amhertsburg, ON's Libro Centre, including Canada's first Miracle League field.
So many winners! So many great baseball memories still to come.

The best part of the Stampede noise issue is that it smoked out who Farkas really is.

It genuinely amused me that people think replacing Starmer will make things better.
From Boris Johnson's election onwards, we've been shuffling the bollards on the Titanic.
You have to actually change direction if you want to avoid crashing into the iceberg:
- End Net Zero
- Make business viable again
- Get welfare under control
- Fund defence
- Ensure equality under the law
- Arrest criminals and keep them in jail
- Deport illegal immigrants and close the border
- Bring the civil service to heel
Burnham will become as unpopular as Starmer within months since he isn't going to do any of that.
The list of high decibel music acts, a quantum > than levels at Cowboys: Led Zeppelin, The Who, Hendrix, AC/DC, Kiss, Ted Nugent, Garth Brooks. Legends.
I and 60k partied as Sammy Hagar rocked the Minneapolis Aquatennial. Absolute sound cannon.
Don't be killjoys.

The fun police are at it again. Last time, they tried to ban fireworks on Canada Day; now they're trying to ban music during Stampede.
