You can’t win championships alone.
Trust your teammates to do their jobs. Trust them to have your back. And make sure you’re doing the same for them.
That’s how teams win.
Happy Labor Day.

Expectations are a double-edged sword.
They can motivate you, or they can become a mental burden.
In 1996, I had to learn how to manage the expectations around me, quiet the noise and focus on what I could control.
Set the goal. Do the work. Stack the wins.
Confidence follows.
The right mindset can change everything.

For 19 consecutive games in 1988, Mike Ricci scored for the @PetesOHLhockey — an #OHL record still standing today. The twist? When Erie's Alex DeBrincat tied it in 2016-17, the team that held him off the board reaching for 20 was, fittingly, Peterborough.

Big goals are built on small wins.
Too often, we focus on the finish line and overlook the progress it takes to get there.
Stack small victories. Build confidence. Keep moving forward.
When things get tough, those small wins remind you that you're making progress.

Every step and every opportunity has to be earned.
That mindset is where EARNED came from. Talked about this on Monday's @SportsOnPrimeCA broadcast.
Accountability, consistency, and showing up every day to be your best.

Winning doesn’t start on game day.
It starts with the standards you set and the ones you refuse to lower.

We talked about this on the @PuckPedia show.
Why I wrote EARNED wasn’t to relive the highlights. It was to unpack the lessons: leadership, setbacks, pressure, and what it really takes to win.
Nothing is given at this level. It’s all earned.

You don’t rise to the occasion. You fall to your level of preparation.
