HBO’s Harry Potter Series Budget Reportedly Higher Than All Eight Movies
“Reportedly, the first season's budget reached £147.4 million (about $196 million USD) halfway through its production. The most expensive films in the Warner Bros. series are Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows – Part 1 & 2, costing around $250 million each; it appears HBO may give Warner Bros. a run for their money in terms of spending.”

An old ape named Shift finds a dead lion's skin floating in a pool. He sits down with a needle and thick thread, and every time a bird flies over, he stops sewing and waits for it to pass. He knows exactly what he's making, and he doesn't want anyone in the sky to see it.
C.S. Lewis wrote that scene in 1956, in the last Narnia book. It's the one most of us never got to as kids. I only read it a few years ago.
When his friend Puzzle the donkey comes back from market, Shift ties the skin onto him and tells him to stand in the shadows. Then he tells the whole of Narnia that Aslan has come back.
Lewis tells you how it works. No one who had ever seen a real lion would have been taken in for a moment. It only works from far away, at night, by firelight, with the donkey kept quiet while the ape does all the talking.
Puzzle gets scared and says what if the real Aslan comes. Shift laughs and says Aslan never turns up nowadays. Right then there's a crack of thunder and the ground shakes under them. Puzzle says it's a warning. Shift says yes, it's a sign, and it means Aslan approves.
Now Gerwig's Aslan has Bowie's face and Meryl Streep's voice. The lion who sang a whole world into being in The Magician's Nephew, the voice so deep it shook the ground, talks like someone else now.
Shift did the same thing. He kept the lion's face and changed who was talking.
Lewis is gentle with the donkey, and I want to be too. Puzzle isn't evil. He's tired and trusting, and someone he believed kept telling him he wasn't clever enough to judge for himself. Lewis saves his anger for the ape with the needle.
A dad told me he was reading that first chapter to his kids and had to put the book down, because it read like these Hollywood headlines.
Pick up the real books. Read all seven out loud, every night, until your kids know that voice. A child who has heard the real lion can't be sold a donkey in a skin.
C.S. Lewis’ family has issued an official statement supporting Greta Gerwig’s Narnia and praising her lifelong passion for the books. bit.ly/4Buu39d

This is awful and I hate it. Namely because Gerwig took all the fear out of it.
What does that mean?
Originally, Uncle Andrew TRICKED the children into touching the rings.
He was a coward who wouldn’t use the rings himself because he didn’t know exactly what would happen. So he sent a Guinea Pig and Polly through first.
Diggory, DESPITE his fear chose to go and rescue Polly.
The ENTIRE THEME of the book is being TERRIFIED but doing the thing anyway.
• Terrified to use the rings
• Terrified of new worlds
• Terrified your mom is going to die and that Aslan won’t help you save her
Gerwig has erased the heroism from The Magicians Nephew.
Nobody is afraid
Nobody is evil
Nobody can be a hero
The hell she did.
Greta Gerwig on preparing to write Narnia: The Magician's Nephew:
"I read or re-read everything Lewis wrote. Then I tried to read everything he read."
She also retraced C.S. Lewis's life and steps in Belfast, Cambridge, and Oxford, hoping to better understand the author so that "my instincts would align with his”.

Netflix’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew Trailer Teases a Very Different World Than Lewis’
“Director Greta Gerwig said she wanted to make her version of Narnia ‘rock ‘n roll,’ and this trailer certainly depicts that.”
This is not Narnia. It’s a mere shadow of the original story.
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
I keep seeing it, so I want to say a few things.
The idea of a female Malfoy doesn't feel like anything new necessarily to me, firstly because in A Very Potter Musical (fan parody musical) Draco was played by a woman and it was funny as hell. Also, I'm reminded of shippers pairing Harry and Luna together, which at the start of this, I thought for a second it WAS Luna.
Now, I'm not going to sit here and say it's a bad thing to see fans having fun with something, which is great, however for me personally, I just am not going to partake mainly because I'm just NOT a fan fiction enjoyer. For one, it's a majority smut (not saying this Fem Malfoy stuff is, but it damn well could turn into it for some people) and secondly...my lord some people DO NOT know how to separate dialogue from paragraphs and it is PAINFUL to read.
That aside, I will make this final point. I have seen on a certain blogging website (we all know what I'm referring to) where some artists were literally race swapping Harry straight after the Play That Must Not Be Named was produced by two 🏳️🌈 with JKR's stamp of approval when, looking at it now, that whole play is terrible fan fiction, regardless of what it's promoted as. So, if the author is open to changing every little about her works (black Hermione and now black Snape), then making fan fiction about a Fem Malfoy is totally fine.
So to end, have fun people but keep it wholesome, okay? Also, please I hope people think of a better name. lol
(I still prefer the canon of the books but that's a personal preference because as I've said, I just do not like fan fiction)
Today I'll be making Creamy Balsamic Chicken! It's simple, yet packed with flavor and a definite favorite meal of my husband's. So tune in at 4:30PM EST!! 🔗👇 @MGBootyClap @NERDWARS222
