We are finally pushing China's state-run telecom spy operations out of the United States. @BrendanCarrFCC has been relentless in confronting these malign operations. Salt Typhoon remains a serious U.S. national security threat. It's time to ban every Chinese telecom company from our networks.
#China #Spy
The United States plans to bar Chinese telecommunications companies from direct access to American phone numbers on national security grounds, a move aimed at curbing scam-related robocalls.
The Federal Communications Commission announced it will vote on Nov. 19 on a proposal to block China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and other IP-enabled service providers from obtaining direct access.
Direct number access serves as a cost-effective channel for Voice over Internet Protocol providers, allowing them to route digital voice data over broadband networks while deploying advanced calling features.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr stated that the decision will reinforce the agency's frontline defenses against fraudulent operators and malicious callers.
China's foreign ministry firmly condemned the impending restrictions, accusing Washington of overstretching the concept of national security and misusing state authority to suppress Chinese firms.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun warned that Beijing will take necessary countermeasures to resolutely protect its legitimate commercial rights and interests.
The FCC also intends to bar IP-enabled service providers that incorporate hardware from blacklisted suppliers deemed security risks, including Huawei and ZTE.
The agency separately plans to ban all Chinese laboratories from testing U.S. electronics beginning in December 2028, while weighing the revocation of existing number authorizations for Chinese companies flagged as risks.
The proposal follows prior regulatory crackdowns in which the FCC revoked the operating licenses of China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom to provide international telecommunications services in the United States.
Regulators are considering further sanctions, including barring Chinese carriers from connecting to domestic networks and prohibiting them from operating data centers on U.S. soil.
Espionage concerns have intensified following revelations in late 2024 that the Chinese state-sponsored cyber espionage group Salt Typhoon breached U.S. telecommunications infrastructure and exfiltrated consumer call data.
The FBI warned earlier this year that threats stemming from the Salt Typhoon campaign remain active and ongoing.
In July, the FCC added California-based Digitalsystem Technology to its national security risk list, citing its ownership by a Chinese national and direct ties to Chinese telecommunications firms.
China has consistently denied any wrongdoing or involvement in state-directed cyber operations.

AMERICA ONSHORE 🇺🇸
AT&T just announced that they’re bringing customer service call center jobs back to the U.S.
This is a win for American jobs and for every customer who gets frustrated speaking with overseas operators.
AT&T: “By the end of next year, all AT&T home internet, home phone, and post-paid wireless consumers will be served by Care experts located in the United States.”
Thank you, AT&T.
Americans get frustrated when they call a U.S. business and end up speaking with someone at a call center located in a foreign country.
Language & communications barriers only make it harder for callers to get the results they want.
So the FCC is seeking comment on several ideas that could help, including
✅ Facilitating the onshoring of foreign call centers
✅ Requiring operators at call centers to be proficient in American Standard English
✅ Further cracking down on illegal robocalls from abroad through the use of targeted tariffs or bonds.
The FCC’s proposals focus on the call centers run by the communications providers regulated by the FCC. And could represent steps for the government to build on more broadly.

🔥🚨 $ASTS OPENS A BRAND NEW SATELLITE MANUFACTURING HUB IN FLORIDA! 🇺🇸🏭
A major new footprint: a report from Miami Today confirms AST SpaceMobile has established its very first satellite manufacturing operations in Homestead, Florida.
Key takeaways from this new site:
• Expanding Beyond Texas: For the first time, $ASTS is scaling its manufacturing capacity outside its historical base to accelerate BlueBird production.
• Official Spaceport Territory: Leveraging Florida's designated spaceport zone built to attract aerospace and defense leaders.
• Defense Proximity: Operational setup and permitting closely tied with the Homestead Air Reserve Base.
From Texas to Florida: $ASTS is building the multi-facility industrial engine required to power its global Direct-to-Cell network. 🚀

We were proud to stand with @BorreroForFL at today’s press conference exposing the Chinese Communist Party-linked @FerrettiGroup’s potentially unlawful operations near Port Everglades and the U.S. Coast Guard Station.
For years, the Miami Young Republicans have led the fight to expose and block CCP influence in Florida, from shutting down Confucius Institutes, to opposing Chinese state-backed infrastructure projects, to supporting the landmark law Rep. Borrero passed that bans CCP-linked entities from owning property near critical infrastructure.
Following our joint effort, Florida Attorney General @AGJamesUthmeier has now launched a formal investigation. Florida’s laws must be fully enforced. CCP-controlled corporations have no place operating next to our ports, military assets, or critical infrastructure.
Florida will not be a safe haven for the Chinese Communist Party.
WATCH: State Rep. David Borrero says Ferretti Group’s site sits less than a mile from Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale International Airport and is urging state authorities to review whether a foreign principal from a country of concern acquired land barred under Florida law
@BorreroFL: “As Americans, we want to live free from influence from the Chinese Communist Party.”
“We need to make sure that our laws are not just a piece of paper, but that they're properly being abided by.”

We have a major problem happening in our country with Communist China taking ownership in more U.S. companies.
We are seeing it play out with Smithfield Bacon…and now, we have it with Ferretti Yachts in Florida. I keep sounding the alarm on the threat of Communist China. This is a national security issue that Congress must address when we get back in November. loomered.com/2026/09/15/chin…

Nothing can replace the millennia-enduring allure of alchemy. What an incredible time to be alive.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
