Tennesseans should not have to go into debt simply for being sick. As your governor, I plan to use our TANF funds to eliminate medical debt for over 100k Tennesseans. An initiative I have already started in Memphis in my role on the city council. This is one way I plan to make life more affordable- day one.
Memphis, @Jerri_M_Green and I are opening up our campaign HQ if you need a place to cool off and charge your devices. Join us at the HQ from NOW until Thursday, 10 AM-5 PM at 3125 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38111.

I only spent 2 days in Memphis, but it was enough to see that LeBron was right - partially.
If you’re a star after the glitz, the glamor, the lipsticked pig - Memphis isn’t for you.
Memphis is real. The people are real. It’s for the hard workers. The grit and grind.

I absolutely hate big cities. Can’t stand the people and their rudeness, the quickness of life, the loudness of it - (all ironic since I work corporate). As soon as I stepped foot in Memphis, I felt welcomed. People wave at you like a small country, put their heart and soul into the food, and I never ran into a single problem.
My girlfriend (probably fiancée if I visit this city again) found everyone delightful. Even moreso than Richmond, Charlottesville, Tulsa, or Springdale. She dropped a pecan pie and was given a second one on the spot - no extra pricing.
There were so many things, in about 48 hours, that made me love this city. I’m ignorant to the inner politics, to XAI, or any of that.
But as someone who hates cities, I love Memphis. Because of this experience, I will always love Memphis.
So yeah. LeBron won’t like it cause memphians wouldn’t blow smoke up his ass - yall were asking Dillon Brooks to pass it in a food line 😂 but the players and stars who keep it real? They’ll love it just as much as I do.
Memphis is genuine and it seems to appreciate genuine.
Hey @SayMane901, more basketball history from my Grandfather’s storage.

Thank you to Rep. @AftynBehn4TN for being our featured speaker at last night’s meeting. Representative Behn might have been born in Knoxville, and represent Nashville, but after hearing her talk last night, it is abundantly clear: She stands with the people of Memphis.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7. Our caucus is in deep mourning for the loss of Rep. G.A. Hardaway. Tennessee is a better state because of his tireless work. He will be profoundly missed.

Last week, TN Republicans passed a disastrous voucher scam expansion that steals our tax dollars and defunds our public schools. Now they’re doubling down.
We won’t back down. TN Democrats will fight like hell to protect our public schools. Call your State Rep. now.
It’s nice to rock another candidate’s gear every once in a while. Shout out to a phenomenal Democratic Candidate for Governor, @Jerri_M_Green.
Rain ain’t stopping us from getting to the polls!
Polls are officially closed for today, but we’re right back at it this Monday!
I encourage everyone to get out to vote and vote *early*! There was no line at Second Baptist, so it took us maybe five minutes to get the job done.
Wasting $300,000,000 taxpayer dollars that could be used for our public schools?
That’s the sign of a real dummy.
The Expanded Voucher Program, $300 Million of your tax dollars will be subsidizing Private Schools, with most of their families already having their students in these schools.
This legislation abandons the promise of a quality education for all children in Tennessee.
Thanks @gabbysalinas for pointing out the great public schools in TN-97.
These schools should be celebrated, but instead Gillespie turns his back on them and balloons the Vouchers to $300,000,000.
We should fund the education for all our kids, not subsidize Private Schools.
WATCH: A still very grouchy @repgillespie (R-MEMPHIS) defends voting to increase @GovBillLee’s private school vouchers scam to $300,000,000 — mostly for kids already in private schools — and parrots the obvious lie that it isn’t impacting public schools.
Early voting has started, but how will you vote? Early? Election Day? Absentee?
Stay informed on what options are available to you, but no matter what, make a plan to get to the polls!

TN Republicans passed a massive expansion of the private school voucher scam by just 52-43 votes.
These vulnerable TN State House Republicans helped defund our public schools and hand YOUR tax dollars to the wealthy few.
No matter who you are, someone in your life has been touched by breast cancer. For me, it’s both my mother and grandmother. Proud to join the 12th annual @SistaStrut, a celebration in the fight against breast cancer.
