On the other hand, this will cause millions of security holes and possibly a lot of discontent among users.
We have a dream: An exclusive operating system for music, sound and image professionals. An austere system, without great effects or pretensions, without anything that is not strictly essential for our applications and plugins to work.
According to different media, in 2025 @Microsoft will stop supporting #Windows10, putting millions of users at a crossroads: Either they stop connecting to the Internet or they update to #Windows11.
That is, if your PC is not compatible, you should throw away almost everything (motherboard, memory, processor, CPU fan, possibly graphics...), and buy state-of-the-art replacement components.
The other option is clear: upgrade to Windows 11, which is free... or almost. Windows 11 DOES NOT ALLOW its installation on computers that do not have a TPM2.0 chip on their motherboards, and whose processors do not include SSE4.2 or SSE4a instructions.
That is, if you want to stay with Windows 10 and stay connected securely, it is quite likely that you will have to move to a subscription model where the price will increase each year.
Why would they stop connecting to the Internet? For security reasons, obviously, since Windows 10 will no longer have updates. Although it is also said that these updates would be on a payment basis for a few years, and that the price would increase annually.
