Attending the State of the University at @ucmerced learning about the exciting things the University is doing now and the future.
This makes 68 seasons for me. Started as a boy working in cantaloupes with my father. The last 41 seasons were on my own farm. I also worked one additional season in El Salvador during one winter. The end are always bittersweet, especially saying goodbye to our employees.
Not all chiles rellenos are the same. Most are made with chiles poblanos. My favorites are made with Anaheim chiles, like mom used to make. Possibly an American chile, but they are probably what were grown here when my family came to the US. #HispanicHeritageMonth

I was invited by one of our teams to join them for some homemade pozole, as they commemorate #DiaDeLaRaza. For them it’s about our shared heritage of #ColumbusDay and #IndigenousPeoplesDay. We are a mix, and we have created the Mexican culture we have today. Viva la raza!

This is an important program for almonds in California. @FoundationFAR is partnering with the @almonds to utilize sustainable solutions for one of almond’s biggest pests.

The navel orangeworm can cause nut growers more than $800 million in losses annually and threatens consumers' supply of pistachios and almonds.
That's why FFAR and the @almondboard are funding research by @FlyttrGlobal to develop a biological tool that reduces the pest’s threat.

It was a pleasure to receive Consul Irma Pimentel Portilla and her team from @ConsulMexFresno and meet our melon harvest team. It was a learning encounter for both.
