"Today, the Big Five publishers are staffed almost entirely by women. According to the most recent data, more than 70 percent of staffers are women. More than 70 percent of editors are women. Even 70 percent of all interns are women. At the executive level, more than 60 percent of leaders are women. In 2026, American publishing looks like lululemon."

"The Mummys Tomb" was released on this day in 1942. Classic Universal Monster movie from director Harold Young and screenwriters Griffin Jay and Henry Sucher.
Highlights: Terrific makeup effects by Jack Pierce; first appearance of Lon Chaney Jr. as the titular monster; excellent cinematography by George Robinson.
Even though it was hampered by a low budget (it was only afforded a two week shooting schedule!) and ho-hum plotting, "The Mummy's Tomb" was a box office success for Universal.
Although it's centuries away from the quality of the 1932 original masterpiece, I've always enjoyed this third "Mummy" film a lot more than the second one. The shift in locale is interesting, the body count is high, and Chaney gets a few effectively menacing moments.
