Coffee Diem. Last day in Raleigh for a while. Y'all be good while I'm gone. Vote early if you can. If you are waiting until November 3, get to the polls early. And, don't forget to thank the poll workers!
Howdy, friends in Washington, Oregon, and California. Newberry and Verch are headed your way. Go to aprilverch.com/tour-dates for details!
If you don't plan to vote early, Election Day is in 15 Days ... 348 Hours... 20,934 Minutes. Vote! (Photo is of the Pilobolus Dance Company)
Little known fact. In 4th grade, when we were asked what we wanted to be when we grew up, I wrote that I wanted to be the junior Senator from the State of Missouri. (I knew that Stuart Symington would always be the senior Senator.)
I still remember the first time I voted, in 1976. I was so excited to take part in the Great Experiment, and I still am. Please vote.
John Prine would have turned 80 yesterday. We sure do miss him. Here is one of my favorite Prine songs I recorded on the porch a few years ago. youtu.be/HKZFgcR7Gt0?si=6yAh…
FOR YOUR GRAMMY®️CONSIDERATION
Recording Academy members, as balloting opens Monday, we ask FYC in the following categories.
Traditional Folk Album: Blessing on the Wing
American Roots Song: Blessing On The Wing
American Roots Performance: Heaven's In My View / Cardinal
Iced Coffee Diem after a good walk to and from my doctor visit. All is well, and the medical types are pleased. So am I.
Coffee Diem. Princeton, WV. (BTW, Jasper is my coffee shop name. Easier to hear when it is called out, and there is usually no one else there with that name.)
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but in my family, we are aware of it all of the time. So, to all of my sisters here... Please continue to do those self-exams, and get a mammogram, especially if you are overdue for one. I want you around for a long, long time.
