Does anyone have any solid theories on why Reddit as website/system seems to self select for people with the worst takes over time? Like I feel that it has degraded so much over the last decade and not in one spot but all over at a basically even pace.

I wonder what mechanisms cause this? Is it something to do with: - anonymous postings - the visable karma system (I think this is a big part) - how the moderation works - the kind of content the site has - some secret factor? - all of the above?
