The elephant in the room... Pre-Brexit we had a returns agreement Unauthorised migrants could be returned to the first safe EU country they entered Brexit ended that Traffickers spotted a new gap in the market: Take people to Britain where they could no longer be sent back

The Prime Minister has just posted a new video - telling us with a big fat smile on his face that his plan is working. Tell that to the 14 million people now living in poverty & the kids eating out of bins! If you share my rage RT this widely

The Prime Minister is still saying he’s ensuring the only way to come to the UK for asylum will be through safe & legal routes Imagine his shock when he finds out there are currently NO SAFE & LEGAL ROUTES by which to travel to the UK for the purpose of claiming asylum
In his latest bonkers video PM says he’s “ensuring that the only way to come to the UK for asylum will be through safe & legal routes” Imagine his shock when he finds out there are currently NO SAFE & LEGAL ROUTES by which to travel to the UK for the purpose of claiming asylum

Conservatives say they can’t afford the Pension Triple lock because it's too expensive. The UK has the lowest State pension in Europe, the oldest retirement age in the world and is the 6th richest nation in the world. You'd have to be damn stupid to believe that lie #newsnight

If you are worried about Benefit Fraud £0.5bn but not Government Corruption £58bn. Or immigration £2bn but not Tax Havens £150bn. Or NHS potential pay rises £3bn but not Bankers tax cuts £7.3bn. You are buying their lies.

I don't think a lot of people in Britain realise how much higher GDP per capita is in Ireland than in the UK - more than double. Also, in 2010 the GDP per capita of both countries was comparable, but since then it's more than doubled in Ireland and stayed almost flat in the UK.

We shouldn’t have a health secretary with no background in healthcare. It makes no sense. You only understand the complexities if you’ve been responsible for patients’ care and their well-being.

Real Suffering: Long COVID We must do more to discover scientific answers & medical treatments for LONG-COVID In our recent Neuro #LongCOVID paper in @LancetRespirMed…read 🧵👇 We had permission to present the true story of this 32-year-old father, husband, firefighter, and emergency medical technician who developed mild acute COVID-19 in October, 2021, despite being fully vaccinated. The patient was healthy, fully functional, and employed before infection, but showed symptoms consistent with cognitive impairment, post-traumatic stress disorder, and precipitous hearing loss after the acute disease, with resultant loss of employment. He had hearing evaluated as part of employment screening in 2014; the picture on the left, taken 8 months after acute COVID-19, shows hearing loss since the previous evaluation. His profound sensorineural hearing impairment as part of long COVID necessitated bilateral hearing aids, appears to be permanent. The picture on the right shows him in June, 2023, 1 year and 8 months after the acute disease; he has now received the first of 2 planned cochlear implants & he receives social security disability funds that make up about 50% of his previous income.

The way British conservatism has drifted from its roots over the last decade can be highlighted in no better way than that they inflicted Brexit on us and then proceeded to blame all of its negative effects on everyone else but themselves.
