A lot of beginners assume free samples are all about follower count. Sellers are checking a bunch of other stuff too... One guide written for sellers lists what they look at: audience fit, recent content in the same niche, how often you post shoppable videos, how you show the product, comment quality, and whether you finish the collabs you agree to. Past sales only count "when available" What I'd take from it: - Stay in one niche. A seller with kitchen products wants to see kitchen videos on your page - Post shoppable videos regularly, even before samples. Buy one cheap product and review it so there's something to look at - Finish every collab. Free and refundable samples have different posting windows, so check the deadline when you accept one Your page is pretty much what they're judging you on

When a brand asks for your Spark Ads code, this is what you're handing over... From Relevant Audience's Spark Ads guide (the options in the app change, so check yours): - The code covers one video only. You make it from that specific video in the app, and the brand pastes it into their Ads Manager - The ad runs as your own post. Likes, comments and follows from it stay on your video and your account after the ad ends - You can cancel it early from the app, which stops the ad. You also can't delete that video while it's authorized Good to know before you say yes, since it's your account the ad is running on

Re-uploading your own old video on TikTok Shop can count as unoriginal content... That's one of the examples in BigSeller's breakdown of TikTok's unoriginal content enforcement, which started Sept 15 2025. A few others on the list: - Stitching or dueting someone's review without adding your own commentary - A LIVE that barely changes, like swapping outfits in front of the same setup - Screen recordings that still show your status bar, cursor or notifications What they list as fine: your own demo, commentary or story, showing your face, and changing backgrounds or angles Overall, point is if you reuse anything, add something of yours to it

Your TikTok Shop account has a health score, and some features are locked behind it... It's called Creator Health Rating. From PPC Land's breakdown of the US creator enforcement policy (June 2026): - Your first warning doesn't cost you points - General Community Guidelines strikes don't touch the score, but the video can still come down - Countdown Bidding, which launched in June, needs a score above 150 Worth finding where yours is sitting before you start posting a lot

Before you post a slideshow video with a product link on TikTok Shop, read this... TikTok Shop US has a page called "Requirements for High-Quality Videos and LIVEs" (updated May 2026, per PPC Land). A few rules on it most beginners don't know: - Shoppable videos need at least 3 seconds of moving footage. A video made only of still images that never shows your face or the product isn't allowed - No screenshots of the product page on top of your video, even small ones, because the price in them can be out of date - On LIVE, no AI voice or pre-recorded audio. Someone has to actually be talking Breaking these can cost you anything from violation points to your commission (also per PPC Land) Has anyone had a slideshow video lose its product link?

AI product videos are all over TikTok Shop right now, so I looked up what the rules actually say... TikTok's Community Guidelines say they "require clear labeling when AI or editing is used to realistically depict people or scenes" (Sept 2026 version). The TikTok Shop creator policy separately lists unoriginal content as its own violation category People mix those two up a lot: - You can use AI, you just have to label it if a person or scene looks real - Copying someone's winning video and swapping the product can get flagged either way, AI or not - Scripts, captions and editing with AI are a lot lower risk than an AI person reviewing a product nobody actually held

If a brand sent you the product for free, the FTC still wants you to say so... The FTC's letters to influencers say a free product counts as a connection to the brand, same as being paid. TikTok also has a setting for marking a post as commercial content What to actually do: - Turn on the content disclosure setting when you post anything you got free or earn commission on - Say it in the video too. A quick "they sent me this" is enough - Put it where people see it. The FTC warns that tags at the end of a long caption are easy to miss It takes a couple seconds, so I'd just do it every time

A lot of TikTok Shop buyers aren't teenagers anymore, and that changes what kind of videos sell... A roundup of third-party data this year puts 35 to 54 as the most active US buyer group, with 41% saying they've bought through the app, and buyers over 45 growing fastest (these are third party estimates, not TikTok's own numbers) What I'd do with that: - Don't only make trend-style videos. Someone in their 40s buying a kitchen tool wants to see it actually work - Explain the product. Price, size, how it works, what's annoying about it - The same roundup says older buyers spend more per order, so they're worth making videos for Overall, point is make the video for whoever's actually buying

TikTok Shop changed its creator enforcement rules in June, and there's one part worth knowing if you post a lot... If you get the same violation 6 times within 90 days, TikTok Shop can pull your e-commerce access and freeze your commissions, even with a high Creator Health Rating. You get 30 days to appeal each one (per PPC Land's breakdown of the June 2 update) A few of the categories the policy names: - Medical claims and weight management, stuff like saying a supplement "cures" something or a cream "melts" fat - Misleading promos. Fake "last day" deals, prices that don't match the listing - Unoriginal content, which is basically reposting someone else's video or barely editing it Have you ever had a video flagged?

Making a sale on TikTok Shop and getting paid for it happen weeks apart... Commission isn't released when someone buys. From a few creator payout breakdowns, it gets confirmed after the order is delivered and the return window closes. Settlement is usually around 15 days and can stretch to 31 during policy or security checks (check the current timing in your own affiliate dashboard, it changes) What that means if you're starting: - Pending and settled show up separately in your dashboard. Pending isn't money yet, so don't count it - Returns cancel the commission on that order. TikTok Shop also just added box-free returns at around 10,000 US drop-off spots, so keep an eye on your return rate - Expect a gap between your first sale and your first payout. That part is normal

TikTok Shop did about $500M in US sales over Black Friday weekend last year, roughly $125M a day... That's from Tubefilter's report on the four days from Black Friday to Cyber Monday 2025. The year before, Black Friday alone was around $100M If you're starting now, here's how I'd use the next 5 weeks: - Pick products that make sense as gifts, since that's a lot of what people buy in late November - Get samples in early. Sellers get busy in November, and it takes time to receive and film - Post more in late November, that's when people are actually scrolling to buy What are you planning to push for the holidays?
