Five polio outbreaks closed, one shared achievement. Congratulations to Burundi, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Republic of the Congo & Uganda! Whilst we celebrate this milestone, the work continues: Strong surveillance and reaching every child with vaccines is the only way to #EndPolio for good.
🎉 Good news! Independent teams have confirmed that #polio transmission has been interrupted in five African countries: Burundi, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Republic of the Congo and Uganda. This marks an important step towards a polio-free Africa. The work continues until polio is gone for good. afro.who.int/news/five-afric…
