Had an excellent time working on this piece and telling the story of Matt Hill’s coaching journey.
My latest for the Lawrence Journal-World:

He’s always had such a smooth, compact swing.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he hit north of .300 this spring for #KUbaseball

A week after getting reverse swept in Allen Fieldhouse by Arizona State, #KUVball responds with its first reverse sweep since Nov. 19, 2022 (Iowa State).
A gritty, gritty win by Matt Ulmer's group. Nelson, Ptacek and Stanley all with 13 kills while Kenzie Dean added 11.

#KUVball goes on a 7-0 run with Reese Ptacek at the service line, and pulls ahead late to force a fifth set in Waco.
KU soccer once again with some late heroics, this time scoring twice in the final 12 minutes to pick up a massive road win a TCU.
It’s incredible how good Nate Lie’s team is in the most crucial moments.

For the first time since 2020-21, the LHS football team claimed consecutive wins in the City Showdown.
This year's win over the Firebirds puts the Lions (6-2) in a favorable spot heading into postseason play as a No. 4 seed.

Grace Nelson was referred to by Matt Ulmer as "the glue" for this #KUVball team during Hawk Talk this week.
She finished with a team-high 13 kills against TCU including this one to win the match. Also added two aces and two blocks.
It also intrigues me that there are a pair of Week 8 rematches in round one:
Shawnee Mission East @ Olathe West (OW won 17-10)
Wichita East @ Garden City (GC won 28-27)
Certainly both are toss-up games and should be fun!
