The Dodgers getting swept may look bad, but you have to remember those losses are actually deferred for the next 30 years.

Margaret Hamilton was a pioneer whose work helped make Apollo and humanity’s first journeys to the Moon possible. The best way to honor her legacy is to finally pick up where her generation left off and never stop going.
We’ve lost an icon. Margaret Hamilton, a computer science pioneer best known for her work at MIT leading development of the flight software for the Apollo missions to the moon, has died at 90. Read about her legacy via MIT News: news.mit.edu/2026/margaret-h…

Apparently, there are many who believe that Houston's history began in 1960 and ended in 1996.
Ultimately, the split between the city and Oilers owner Bud Adams came with animosity from both sides.
And to each one's credit, the issue somewhat lied dormant until recently (2023).
However, the entitlement that a lot of Titans fans and media feel over the issue is astounding considering that:
A. Texans and the Oilers originated from the same city, thus some overlap in certain aspects of creativity is a bit inevitable
B. Houston has a rich history that exists independent of any desire to be Temu-Oilers.
The Texans have every right to tap into every level of city culture in order to produce a product that resonates with its fanbase.
No apologies will be made for Tennessians who can't fathom a reality where the Texans are genuinely more focused on deepening its own roots while also being unafraid to lay claim to every aspect of city history that authentically belongs to them.
Tennessee doesn't own the blue tiling. They don't own I-45. They don't own grills, slabs, Houston's rich art history or taste in music, and they don't own the color blue.
Instead of harping on what Houston is doing, lean more into Nashville and it's various inspirational aspects.
You didn't do that in 2023, don't hypocritically point a finger in 2026.
My thoughts on Houston's dedication to Oilers colors, etc. and the big debate about their Rivaly uniforms.
Houston didn't want the Titans and were willing to let them go. Understandable given the fight over a stadium and feelings for Bud Adams.
Perhaps the city should have considered this when letting the Oilers vacate their fine city: The history, the uniforms, the colors were going with them.
That's been the case in every move in league history except one, where Cleveland and the league were proactie with the Browns.
Why didn't Houston try to be smartly proactive like that if all these things were so vital to the lifeblood of the place? Your lack of foresight isn't the Titans being petty. It's your lack of foresight. They own what they own.

This just lacks so, so much context.
The city wanted the Oilers, they didn’t want Bud Adams… after going 12-4 in 93, and having a winning record for 7 straight years he cut cut cut costs, and simultaneously asked the city for 75% of funding for new stadium a half decade after asking the city for $100M worth of renovations. He threatened to leave over them throughout the 1994 season so much he burnt all bridges in town before announcing the departure officially in 1995
He spent the renovation focused on luxury items for upper crust fans, then threw a fit when the city didn’t also fork over money for more significant, impactful, & necessary work.
But Bud Adams’s net worth was over a billion in the mid-90s, and the city was coming out of the 80s when an oil bust nearly broke the city financially… and still managed to help him with his first of the two asks in 89. The drying up of fan support, in every way, was a response to his threats, NOT to how people felt about nfl football.
Bud Adams greed led to the mess that moved the oilers away from Houston. He wanted his own, brand new Alamodome to house the three major franchises, but wanted the city to foot 75% of it even after he’d shown poor judgement in spending the city’s money before.
All of the legalese and trandmark fighting out of Tennessee since then have struck the same “you never gave us all the things we wanted” notes the entire time. He sought to take advantage of a city already on hard times instead of invest in the community that helped him amass wealth and notoriety in the first place.
There’s little oil in Tennessee, and the colors were meaningless to Nashville or Memphis. But theyre the ones used as pawns for a family that’s holding the 30 year grudge.
So no, it’s not “lack of foresight.” It’s seeing through bullshit.

I’m just going to say, when you can afford as many players as the Dodgers can afford, why not just stack as many pitchers as you can and just put some on IL while others start. You know just have a nice double rotation…
