I think it's absolutely criminal that the subsequent part of Melville's "There is a wisdom that is woe; but there is a woe that is madness" isn't repeated more often:

(rightwing troll who mistakenly thinks slug size correlates to how liberal the slug is) not surprised this species lives in California
today i discovered aplysia vaccaria (black sea hare). it is the largest species of sea slug and is mainly found in california.

So that's what happened in 1970, holy fucking shit
Replying to @Trotztd
it happened to progesterone in the 1970s because of human activity nature does *not* efficiently examine the entire state space, and there is zero reason to expect it to

you know a culture is legit when it produces its own forms of forbidden romance
Anthropic's Responsible Scaling Policy explicitly forbids external evaluators from having close personal relationships with anyone at Anthropic (including being roommates)

this is not quite true since the carlike aspects are distinct from the druglike ones. but it is like if every single car had a crack pipe built in for puffing while you drive.
cell phones aren’t druglike, they’re carlike. even if you consciously want to opt out, you can’t, because everyone expects you to have and use one to interact with society. i cannot even use the laundry machines in my building without being forced to use the laundry app.

when I'm seventy eight and retire on my state pension of ten billion pounds per year, I hope to move to a one bedroom flat in New Poundbury, an entirely New London Vernacular town built by George VIII in protest against the computronium tesseracts going up in the City of London

extremely funny to read this the day I fly to the Bay Area with plans to attend several meetups. better be on my toes!
there's a relatively well known twitter user who also runs a meetup in SF, who was recently banned from LH due to claiming he would kill people if he returned. The threat was caught on camera. This is just a heads up for ppl who might not have heard this fact!

I like to imagine that the visible beams are non-diagetic. in universe, characters just see a diffuse glow from the hilt. only trained and/or force-sensitive individuals are even capable of figuring out what the hell is going on in a lightsaber fight.
Okay but truly, do we know if Lightsaber colours are diagetic?

I do want to pass judgment before I hear from them? What information do you expect you might plausibly learn from OpenAI? We know their playbook.
