Granted we play more games a season now than we used to, but 16 wins at home is also the most ever in a three year span in the 103 season history of Gies Memorial Stadium. Just incredible to think for those that are season ticket holders, it’s never played out before to see us win this number of times in this building in consecutive seasons like this.
Illinois improved to 16-4 at Gies Memorial Stadium over the last three seasons (2024-26). The 16 home wins are tied for the fourth-most in the Big Ten since 2024, behind only Indiana, Ohio State, and Oregon.

Illinois football under Bret Bielema is now: 4-1 vs Nebraska 4-1 vs Northwestern 3-1 vs Minnesota 3-1 vs Maryland 2-1 vs Michigan State 2-1 vs Rutgers 1-1 vs Michigan 1-1 vs Oregon 1-0 vs USC Just wish we were better vs Purdue (2-4) and Wisconsin (1-3), but I'll never take for granted this string of conference success under Bret.

376 total yards for Illinois is also the second most Nebraska's defense has allowed this season and is more than the 328 yards for Indiana and 242 yards Oregon accumulated against this Cornhusker defense. And Illinois' 462 yards of offense vs Ohio State is still the most the Buckeye defense has allowed all season which is only giving up an average of 247 yards in their seven other games. Barry Lunney Jr. is good at what he does.
24 points are the most allowed by Nebraska this season. #Illini

Friday's Nebraska–Illinois game has an overlooked discipline gap: Illinois: 33 penalties, 279 yards in 8 games. Nebraska: 64 penalties, 555 yards in 8 games. That's 31 MORE flags and 276 MORE penalty yards for Nebraska. Could it decide a close game?

Illinois in 2027 is now set to play at: Notre Dame Stadium Michigan Stadium Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Lot of iconic venues on next year's schedule. Under Bielema, Illinois has won 15 games as an underdog so I like our odds of winning at least one of these.
Mark the calendars. 📅 The Illini head to South Bend in 2027 before hosting Notre Dame in 2028.

Illinois has not played Notre Dame since 1968. Two opportunities in the next couple years for the Fighting Illini to get our first ever win over the Fighting Irish. A bit disappointing though the series with Missouri will now be delayed by at least a couple more seasons (if it ever gets revitalized).
Mark the calendars. 📅 The Illini head to South Bend in 2027 before hosting Notre Dame in 2028.

Crazy stat: Illinois' 120-45 win against Fairleigh Dickinson yesterday was the first time a team scored 120+ and allowed 45 or fewer in a D-I vs. D-I matchup since North Carolina/Manhattan in 1985.
