I've been working on "How to Win Forever" for more than a year. It's still surreal to see the book jacket.

Even by the Connor McDavid standard, this is an all-time run. On Edmonton (and their captain's) scorching start. tsn.ca/nhl/article/exception…

ICYMI: Yesterday we announced Box WAR, our first model approved for small sample sizes. We used a few tricks to build it: NHL EDGE tracking to distribute goal credit, RAPM priors to account for teammates/competition, and more. Read our methodology here: hockeystats.com/methodology/…

Among NHL D with 100+ minutes at 5v5, Bouchard is: 1st in GF/60 (7.44) 6th in GA/60 (0.78) 36th in xGF/60 (3.24) T2nd in xGA/60 (1.65) The offence has been crazy, but the underlying numbers suggest the Oilers should have a 2:1 edge in his minutes - mostly thru great defence.

The Oilers are now up 19 to 2 in Evan Bouchard’s minutes at even strength lol

Over the past three seasons per AllThreeZones, Draisaitl ranks first among current Oiler forwards in controlled zone exits per 60. Second place belongs to Mathieu Joseph.

Third line at 5v5, first unit power play, and no higher than second unit PK. And that's fine, he's good value at that cap hit in those roles. The PP has always been RNH's bread & butter, and at 33 it's time for his usage to evolve from jack-of-all-trades to specialist.

No GM has ever truly embraced the idea of Nuge as 3C but everytime Dickenson fails to play five games in a row makes me think they should
