Why make a dramatic hospital entrance with the same child twice? The child doesn't even look injured—she's being shaken up, surrounded by terrifying screams, photographers, and a crowd

"Amplifying atrocity propaganda" is a weird way of saying "calling out Hamas for the 10/7 massacre." It's a damn good thing Ari's amplifying it. We need to do more of that.

The Seattle Times Is Trash: Journalisming Is Hard Warning: TL;DR There is a reason the Seattle Times keeps trying to get its grubby little hands on handouts from the legislature to "save journalism" by forcing taxpayers to cough up money they refuse to pay in subscriptions: The reason, of course, is ideologically driven propaganda like this article. (Where is the PDC when you need them? Oh, that's right, they are busy helping public unions buy up the Supreme Court.) First, the premise (so you don't need to waste your money on the Times) is that this is an anti-trans effort. WRONG. It was very much inspired by girls having to fight the adults all by themselves, with no elected adult or administrator support. Girls were upset they were losing spots on the podium and losing previously safe spaces in their locker rooms, and even more so about being silenced and told not to say anything because boys had every right to take their spot on a team, stand on the girls' podium, and make themselves at home in the girls' locker room. But nuance is hard for journalismers like the adept pair who wrote this article. And even if they understood nuance, they did not even bother to reach out and ask. They next claim, without a shred of evidence, that this is somehow part of a coordinated national strategy to distract from the midterms. Were they curious at all about how this came about? Do they understand this all started way, way back in 2025, and we were quite alone, along with the girls who were being impacted right here in our state, with no one to step up and be their champion? No, they could not know that, because they were too lazy or ideological to reach out and ask. Because they already have their minds made up. Their talking points are straight from the often violent haters from Nothing But Hate in WA State crowd and the horse's mouth hisself, OSPI's Chris Reykdal: To summarize the OSPI’s evolving unverified head count, it has gone something like this : -It's really not happening. -Oh well, it's only 5-10 -OK, Oh, it's only about 10 -OK、OK, it is only 10, 12, maybe 15 boys tops.. But did they talk to Frances? Did they talk to Sadie? Did they talk to Ahnaleigh? Did they talk to Kallie? Did they talk to any of the 12 brave girls who stepped off the XC field at Camas HS? Did they talk to the team captain in Camas who quit the team despite years of training, lost sleep and weekends, sweat and tears? Did they talk to the two brave runners from Skyview? Or their dads? Did they talk to the runner from Battle Ground, left alone to stand up and defend herself with a no-win decision? Or her mom? And they certainly did not reach out to me or talk to anyone on my team. And we put the initiative on the ballot. Did they talk to anyone about solutions that do not involve throwing girls under the bus? Did they ask the WEA why it is funding an effort to force boys onto girls' teams? I would say do better, but I don't think they can. I would say shame on you, Seattle Times, but you can't shame someone who long ago traded standards for narrative. Don't be intimidated. Don't waste money on the ST. (I pay so you don't have to.) I read Shuldiner's most recent post. Ari is right; this man has the potential to save SPS from itself.
NEW: Tracy Castro Gill, one of the architects of Seattle Public Schools' woke curriculum, who was eventually fired and had her material pulled from schools for being too insane, is upset that I had kind words to say about the district's new superintendent, Ben Shuldiner, and some of the changes he has made. She wrote in her blog, where she previously called math and music racist, and seems oddly obsessed with me, that I am a "conservative shock-jock known for attacking and doxxing public-school teachers" She then added, "I know very well that a leader can’t please all the people all of the time, but when you’re pleasing the likes of Ari Hoffman, you might want to do some reflection work." The Daily Wire’s Luke Rosiak, in his book "Race To The Bottom," highlighted how the "Xicanx" education activist was three-quarters white and moved her daughter in with a child molester and “pressured her child, who had serious mental impairments, to become gender-nonbinary.” "Castro-Gill, it turned out, was a perennially unhappy toxic liar, one who misrepresented her background to the point that her own father compared her to Rachel Dolezal, and who was ultimately pushed out of her job for repeated misconduct. A focus on racial oppression did not create resiliency, but rather despondency, with Castro-Gill and three other racial justice leaders going on paid leave from SPS for mental health issues in 2019 alone." Rosiak noted that "The academic achievement of Seattle’s youth plummeted as she implemented initiatives like replacing math instruction with courses on ‘power and oppression.'"

BREAKING: The Superintendent of Seattle Public Schools announced in his weekly email: "The conversation around school mergers begins." He wrote, "In 1964, Seattle Public Schools had an enrollment over 94,000 students. Today, our student count sits under 50,000. Over the last half century, there have been years of growth and decades of decline." "Some of the decline was out of the district’s control, but some was self-inflicted: a lack of clarity of vision and purpose, a revolving door of disparate and problematic leadership, fits and starts of numerous programs and policies, each seemingly in contrast with the previous iteration. But through it all, there seemed to be a district that did not privilege students and their families." "Decisions seemed to be made in direct opposition to the expressed needs of our community. When parents asked for rigor, we thought of cutting advanced programming. When families asked for clarity, they got obfuscation. When we hear about the desire for more arts, music, and dual language programs, we seem to cut those first. When community members want to donate, volunteer, or support the district, we create roadblock after roadblock." He then spoke about his visits to all the schools: "Some students were in beautiful buildings with bright, airy, light-filled classrooms, while others spent their days in buildings without interior walls, traipsing through poorly lit hallways and hearing the scurry of much smaller beings in the rafters." "I saw robust learning communities with teachers who could share within their grades amongst colleagues and schools with just one second grade teacher who had to fend for themselves. I saw schools that got itinerant music teachers once a week or even once every two weeks, while others had full-time teachers firmly part of the school community. And what I saw over and over again was forced split classes. Room after room of second and third graders trying to learn together. Fourth and fifth graders struggling because of the inherent difficulty of teaching “up” or “down” or two grades at once." "I also saw a K-8 school with less than 50 students, where multi-grade classes are the norm. I saw a K-5 school with less than 120 kids trying to contort and contrive as best it could to serve our students. But no matter how great the staff is, this is an extra burden to bear." "I hear communities with very low enrollment say, “But Ben, just give us a year, give us two years, we will get students to come. Give us a PR budget and we will draw tens if not hundreds of students. Just redraw district lines and force students into our school.” I appreciate that all, but each idea takes time and would either cannibalize other schools or be based on wishful thinking. In times like these I often think of the Dr. Martin Luther King quote, 'We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. This is the time for vigorous and positive action.'" "I don’t want students to spend one more year in a building where bookcases serve as walls, if we don’t have to. I don’t want students to spend one more year in a sixth-seventh-eighth grade split if we don’t have to. I don’t want teachers to be the only teacher in the grade if we don’t have to. I don’t want to accept large class sizes if we don’t have to. So, the conversation around school mergers begins." The timeline is as follows: Senior Leadership meetings – First two weeks in September Principal meetings – September and October Staff meetings – October and November Family meetings – November and December Community meetings/public hearings – January and February Board possible action – Late February or early March
