I've said it for decades, Republicans only ever have one year out of a 4 year term to get anything accomplished. After the first year our political system forces you to focus on the midterms and after that (if you don't lose majorities) you are focused on the next presidential election. Even in the best case scenario you get ONE year. That is why we all raised alarm bells the moment Trump proposed the BBB (which was a huge pork and spending increase) and you all said the cuts would come later. We all knew there is never a later, there is only ever the first year.

For all you desperate MAGA holdouts I need you to understand something. It wouldn't have mattered how many of us loud former coalition members had stayed silent and 'trusted the plan', this still would have happened. We always say facts don't care about your feelings. Pretending Trump was fulfilling his campaign promises would not have been supporting the party, it would have been participation in a doomed attempt at gaslighting. You can't gaslight away basic reality. The economy is inescapable. 4A is inescapable. Wars are not silent background noise. Immigration isn't fixed just because you say it is. The promises were not kept and no amount of participation in the lie that they were kept would have convinced enough people to keep voting red for it to have mattered. We weren't loud to fight you and hurt our chances, we were shouting about these problems because our ONLY chance to beat the democrats was a complete about face. To keep the voters you lost you would have had to admit Trump F'd up year one and banded together to correct both his and your behavior. When you all chanted 'trust the plan' on repeat you doomed us to this fate, a minimum of 2 more years of blue hell. Despite you treating us like the enemy whenever we asked for discussion we kept trying. From the moment we raised red flags about the pork filled massive spending increase of the BBB you started calling us traitors, but we never betrayed you, we were trying to save you. With all our might we were trying to save you, and you hated us for it.

Now that the Democrats are back in charge watch Republicans flip and realize that government surveillance like Flock is actually bad.
