It may be strict, but I think it's justified. If a convicted felon is found with a firearm they're not legally permitted to possess, no bail and a mandatory 10 sentence w/o parole or time off if convicted of illegal possession of a firearm.

I've always felt self-defense laws were pretty well understood, but apparently they're strange and mysterious to the jurists of Twitter. To help, here is Wisconsin self defense law. Note the frequent use of the word "reasonably."

I wish those advocating packing the court would keep in mind that 10 to 15 years from now it's likely that republicans will control both the senate and presidency again. The disastrous 2013 "nuclear option" should have been a lesson, but it seems to have been forgotten already.

Whether talking about the police or violent idiots mixing with actual protesters, I hear "It's just a few bad apples" a lot, but nobody seems to remember the whole idiom is "It only takes one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel."

When did "I might not agree with what you say but I'll die defending your right to say it" become "If I don't like what you say I'm justified assaulting you until you stop talking?"

The problem with public transportation is one bad apple ruins the barrel. Or one amped out tweaker to ruin your morning commute. Or, I can sit in my own car, listening to classical music, with the temperature exactly how I want it, enjoying the scenery and the fresh pine smell.
