Anya Taylor-Joy says she understands why Frank Herbert wrote a sequel to his first 'Dune' novel since readers hadn't understood the message of the first novel:
"[Like the books], this has kind of happened with the movies too. Paul is a very charismatic character and you have to have the third movie to be like, hold up, this is not the moral of the story."

Anya Taylor-Joy about her character Alia Atreides in 'Dune: Part Three':
"At the end of the movie, Denis and I talked, and I was like, “Whoa, I’m the bad guy. That's crazy.” But I really understood where she was coming from. What a gift of a character to play somebody that has one connection to one person, and nobody else matters at all. That kind of straightforwardness felt almost animalistic in a way. I’ve never really done animal work before, but she was definitely my most feral creation."

"Have you considered what it meant for Alia to be born into this universe fully cognitive, possessed of all her mother’s memories and knowledge? No rape could be more terrifying."

M. Night Shyamalan in a recent Q&A about Anya Taylor-Joy's audition for 'Split':
"She was so incredible when she auditioned. None of her movies had come out and she had just shot the witch but I had not seen it or heard about it. She auditioned and she just won the part. She was so amazing and [the experience of doing that movie] it was a pure thing. There was no trailer, you're just sitting there on the ground making movies and trying our best."
