Was that it?
It all felt very familiar.
A Labour Government totally unwilling to take on power and wealth and give our country the investment we so desperately need.

Andy Burnham is asked about Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields.
He says "Use of our resources can support and accelerate a clean energy future"
We are truly down the rabbit hole with this utter nonsense.
Invest in renewables, insulate homes & say no to fossil fuels.

#JasonArday has been cleared of plagiarism for a fourth time. Why is the media silent about it?
As another investigation ends without substantiating plagiarism claims, @richardsudan asks who will hold the British media accountable for its treatment of the pioneering Black academic?👇🏿

Labour now briefing young people won't get the same minimum wage uplift.
Even Starmer didn't break this pledge. Workers rights mean same rights, pay & conditions, same rate for the same job.
What does this Labour government have against young people?

"Government insiders have told the Guardian the project can be approved on a strict reading of Britain’s climate obligations, in part because once the oil is exported, the emissions from burning it no longer count against domestic targets. “Miatta has more latitude than you might think,” said one."
This is insanity masquerading as creative accounting.
EXCL: The giant Rosebank oilfield can be approved without breaching the UK’s emission targets, according to government insiders, in a boost to those in the cabinet who are pushing for it to be given the go-ahead.
Sources also say the Treasury has already accounted for billions of pounds’ worth of tax revenue from Rosebank and so would be faced with a shortfall should it be rejected.

Who is Jake Wallis Simons cheering on here?
It's Moshe Feiglin.
He just got elected on the government ticket.
Last year he said:
"Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy."
Jake knows exactly who this man is, by the way.

This morning, as @SkyNews lionised Marine Le Pen at her RN speech, they mentioned so quickly you could barely notice it that there had been "some protests" at the event, before quickly moving on to other aspects, including Bardella.
The "protests" were from France's Jewish Student's Movement, because Bardella has recently been all over the news because of some seriously antisemitic social media posts a few years ago.
Can you imagine for a minute if the Jewish Student's Union protested at either a Labour or Green event, or if these student protesters had been at an LFI event in France? We wouldn't hear the end of it for days, weeks even.
But the Far Right in both countries seem to get a free pass on actual Jew hate (as opposed to simply attacking Israel) every damn time.
Placée en garde à vue après une action pacifique au congrès du RN, Élise Hirsch, vice-présidente de l’@uejf, dénonce les violences que ses membres ont subies alors qu’ils venaient dénoncer les écrits antisémites de Jordan Bardella.

Excellent and disturbing new report from @EndCorruptionUK based on over 40 FOI requests.
Spotlight has found that UK govt ministers have held 137 meetings about Data Centres and AI growth zones between June 2024 and June 2026... but they didn't meet a single environmental group.
Government met only two community groups - but only AFTER the government had approved growth zones in their communities.
At the same time, Spotlight found that 38 government officials had left to take positions at AI and tech firms.
Spotlight is (correctly) calling for a halt on the approval of new AI and Data Centre Development zones until there has been a proper national consultation on community and environmental impacts. In other countries, these consultations have led to important new regulations to enforce environmental protections.

Sainsbury's has posted an annual profit of £1.02bn.
It current has 10,000 young people working for free, paid by you.
With £1.02bn it could hire 105,905 people aged 18-20 for 16 hours a week all year.
Why not MAKE the scumbags hire instead of giving them free workers?

If Palestinians took their children to the motorways and roads to block aid trucks and food to reach Israelis, Palestinians would be painted as far worse than the Nazis by every mainstream media outlet and politician.
Haven’t seen a single story about this today. Not one.
