Suffolk's quiet heroes deserve the spotlight. Nominations for the 2027 King's Award for Voluntary Service are now open. If you know a volunteer-led group making an outstanding difference in its community, now is the time to recognise them. #KAVS

We send our continued best wishes to HRH The Princess of Wales.
A message from Catherine, The Princess of Wales As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you. With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can. Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright. 🎬 by Will Warr

Dear Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Lid, Aldi, Waitrose, Morrisons, and all other stores that have self checkout. You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now. The lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone. I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already 🛒 filled my cart 🛒 emptied my cart 🛒 scanned the items 🛒refilled my cart and so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying "umm - Excuse me " as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store. You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be. I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you. • If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's vour problem not mine. • Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities. YOU DON'T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING. YOU DON'T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU. Signed ....All of us These are jobs that are needed to have for young and old ……………………… Copied and pasted, because I agree 100%. SPREAD IT AROUND

The saddest of anniversaries, impossible to believe that it is a year since we heard the news of the passing of our late Queen, Elizabeth II. All our thoughts are with His Majesty The King and the Royal Family. CE #QueenElizabethII

My photography doesn’t do justice to either ⁦@GuildhallBSE⁩ or the fantastic pieces on display, and for sale, by members of ⁦@SuffolkCraftSoc⁩. Do go and look/shop if you are in #BuryStEdmunds over the next 10 days! #Suffolk
