The league has clarified that celebrations depicting drinking a beverage will not be violations nor result in discipline, an example of the NFLPA and the league trying to work together to solve an issue.

The NFL has rescinded the $14,926 fine it imposed on 49ers FB Kyle “Juice” Juszczyk for what it thought was a distasteful celebration of chugging a beer. The league said it was withdrawing the fine “because his celebration was simulating drinking a juice box, not a beer….Mr. Juszczyk finally stated that the fine is hypocritical with the amount of Bud Light sponsorships surrounding the NFL.” Fine rescinded.

They’ll be no more remarkable performance in college football today than the one put forth by Yale QB Dante Reno. One day after his father passed away, he played for Yale and threw four touchdown passes and for 298 yards. Yale beat Merrimack 41-24. Bravo.

Fullbacks were on the field for 12.4% of NFL offensive plays in Week 1, up from 7.5% in Week 1 last season. That is a 4.9 percentage point jump and a 66% increase. We are still far from the glory days, when fullbacks were on the field for more than 30% of plays. The fullback renaissance has begun.
