Hey @alexandr_wang — trying to use my AI agent while flying and it's sign-in hell: Uber, TeamSnap, Gmail, iMessage all need separate logins/permissions, one by one. Please build one central control panel to grant access to all my apps at once. One tap, not ten.

Hey @alexandr_wang — all I asked my AI agent for was two LinkedIn URLs. It still took three search engines, a browser workaround and a LinkedIn sign-in wall. This has to be faster: one login, instant answers.

> Shit post about VCs on twitter > VC sees this and invites me to party > VC’s 5th line of dialogue to me “I’m your fairy fucking god mother and I’ll grant you 3 fucking wishes of whatever in the universe you most desire” Moving to sf is the best decision you’ll ever make 💜
> random bs investor event in my building’s foyer last night > me ignore people and wade through shoulder to shoulder gta lobby of 120 investors and free food event vultures to access office > after the event: investor knocks on my door and says “everyone outside was saying we should invest in you bc you ignored us and just kept working. keep up the great work” > me: “ok thanks m8” lesson: secret to raising in sf 2026 is to go non-verbal

i don't think that now is the best time to be in SF. i think that time was 2022 after covid where SF felt like gotham city and the real sickos had weathered the storm while starting the juggernauts of today. 2026 SF feels reminiscent of the 2010s when it was consensus to be here and the striver could chase 200k-300k at big tech. the conversations and discourse in SF reflect this now. AI is priced in and we have ended up in a 2 week news cycle where there is a sequence of new benchmark breaking releases, a scandal with political fallout and weird little bits of cringe striver slop in between. it's not all bad and the pace of progress on the frontier is staggering and interesting. but i have a hard time believing that this amount of capital and comfort surrounding AI is creating the environment that will breed many more cursors or midjourneys like that of 2022. i love it here and always have but it is consensus to be here now. it's always less interesting when that's the case

Jung said: “The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate.” Founders on their journey must overcome their inner situation and integrate their shadow. Only then will they have a chance at altering fate itself.

pov: living in SF in your 20s–30s is basically the Hunger Games: - the reaping: founding engineers who give up on their founder dreams - Blue Bottle SoMa is the pregame showcase - everyone is trauma bonded, no one wins - Katniss: emotionally unavailable tech bro/sis you keep trying to date - sponsor gifts: your pre-seed round with $0 rev - Mission is District 12. no one leaves unchanged - there’s not much good food

This is why you don’t tax unrealized capital gains. The cycle of innovation will cease, and the entrepreneurs simply will just go elsewhere.
So I tried to build a tech company from Norway and here’s what happened: 1. Two years of building without almost any money/funding, better part of a year without salary 2. Raise VC and become one of Norway’s first unicorns 3. Face unrealized gains wealth tax bill of many x my annual net salary. ofc the company is loss making and all the investors have preference shares so I can’t take out any money. 4. Call out publicly that this does not make sense. Independent of level, taxation needs to happen when you actually make money. 5. I move to Switzerland because no politician cares/listens. 6. I still don’t get any tangible and sensible answers to my criticism of unrealized gains tax, BUT I do get put up on the “wall of shame” at the socialist parties offices… I’m Norwegian and I love Norway but the socialist politicians are taking the country down a dark path. It’s a real life Atlas Shrugged.

Til now there were two opposing forces acting on San Francisco. It was both the center of the AI revolution, and had one of the most dysfunctional city governments in America. Now there's just the first.

Reddit IPO reminds me of early days on the internet. So many congrats to all the people who thought of it, built it, kept it and the communities alive, and took it to where it is today! You made internet history many times over! Thank you for that. 🙏🏽 cc: @alexisohanian

I’m excited to announce that today I’m joining @Microsoft as CEO of Microsoft AI. I’ll be leading all consumer AI products and research, including Copilot, Bing and Edge. My friend and longtime collaborator Karén Simonyan will be Chief Scientist, and several of our amazing teammates have chosen to join us. @InflectionAI will continue on its mission under a new CEO, and look to reach more people than ever by making its API widely available to developers and businesses the world over. It’s been an amazing journey, with so much more to come. Thank you to everyone for your support. Things really are just getting started.

Interesting question to ask researchers: what would you be working on if you could get a grant to study anything?
