Having worked at NASCAR and now on the team side, I see real merit in @DaleJr’s proposal. Keep the current O’Reilly car, phase in parts other series can use, and give teams time to budget. That’s a healthier business model for teams and suppliers across the sport.
Replying to @jeff_gluck
I proposed to SO and others that we do this: Keep the current car, but made with new parts from NASCAR specified companies. The general concept of a NASCAR cup car is a mid 1960s Chevrolet Chevelle front clip and a mid 1960s pickup truck suspension in the rear. NASCAR teams spent decades refining this technology. Keep all of the general concepts and theories. Similar mounting points and such, all parts made by a Nascar mandated manufacturer or two or three. Trailing arms, upper and lower control arms, spindles. You name it. Have designated companies produce it all. We could phase these parts in over the next 5 years and continue to race into the future a car we all have an extremely deep connection to. The truck series could use these same parts. They could trickle down to ARCA, Late Model Stock. There is enough racing going on between all levels of "stock car racing" that this could be lucrative to the specified manufacturers of said parts. It would be cost affective toward teams. It would create a pipeline of parts trickling down toward the grassroots levels of racing as they too are concerned over current parts and current and future scarcity. This is doable and maintains a key identifiable element to our industry. My fear is that the industry needs to create a trickle down model for the current Cup Next Gen car. Hubs, front and rear suspension, drivetrain. All these mileaged parts used to have a place to go and compete until the Next Gen was introduced. So there may be some who feel it's common sense for the other 2 national series to adopt literal framework to utilize these pieces. No doubt Cup teams would like to have a marketplace for these parts. Time will tell but I have a feeling it'll be really challenging to convince the league to keep the O'Reilly vehicle on its current architecture long term.

🏆 The 44 team saw the checkered flag in all 33 races of season, and completed the most laps out of any driver in the field! The first driver and team to do so since AJ Allmendinger in 2022. #NASCAR | @TheCW_Sports

And that’s a wrap on 2026. Had the opportunity for better finishes tonight, but proud of the way both teams fought through the final race and, more importantly, the progress this group made throughout the year. @brennanpoole and the 44 close out a third straight season inside the top 20 in points with Alpha Prime. @LavarScott continued the progress we’ve seen over these final weeks and showed some really encouraging speed in his first trip to Homestead. Appreciative of everyone who put in the work this year. Our people, drivers and partners. A lot to be proud of, a lot learned, and a lot to build on. Excited for what’s ahead for @TeamAlphaPrime 🏁

What a day. A lot of adversity, a lot of moments where this could have gone the other direction, and both teams just kept fighting. P18 for Lavar after getting caught up early and having to work all the way back into the race. P20 for Brennan while managing issues late and still bringing home a solid finish. Proud of the perseverance from everyone at Alpha Prime Racing. Days like this show a lot about a team. One more to go.

A big day for Alpha Prime Racing. We built our ARCA program to create meaningful development opportunities for talented drivers, and Dystany is exactly the kind of person we want representing our organization. Proud to welcome @DystanySpurlock to the Alpha Prime family. Let’s get to work! 👊
Alpha Prime Racing adds @DystanySpurlock to 2027 @ARCA_Racing driver development program! Dystany will run a 17-race schedule in the #44 @FordRacing Mustang with the support of primary partner, @foxxtecca. #ARCARacing

Disappointing day at Talladega. The 45 missed the race by .006, and after reviewing what happened, that was on us as a team — not @LavarScott. We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard in preparation and execution, especially when the margins are that small. We’ll own it, learn from it, and be better because of it.

Solid recovery by our @TeamAlphaPrime group at Phoenix. Really proud of the 45 team for staying in the fight, making the car better throughout the night and bringing home a P19 finish after starting 30th. The 44 showed good speed early in the day, but the race didn’t go our way. Appreciate the work from everyone across both teams and the support from our partners. Three more to go.

Proud of this group. A top 10 at Charlotte for @brennanpoole and the No. 44 crew, with great work on pit road. A tough night for @LavarScott and the 45, but plenty of fight in this team. Appreciate everyone who puts in the work and the partners who make it possible.

Big day for Alpha Prime Racing. Beginning in 2027, we’ll race the Ford Mustang full time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and be powered by Roush Yates Engines. This is about much more than changing race cars—it’s the next phase of building APR. #FordRacing
New badge. Same goal. 🏆 Alpha Prime Racing will race the Ford Mustang full time beginning with the 2027 season. We'll begin to phase in Ford equipment for select races to round out the 2026 season. #NASCAR | @NASCAROReillyAP

Back-to-back top 10s. P10 at Iowa. P7 tonight at Daytona. Really proud of @brennanpoole and our entire @TeamAlphaPrime. Good teams keep finding ways to get better, and this group continues to do exactly that. Momentum matters. Keep building. 📈
