A few of the latest pieces of data from our National #AI Monitor:

Amazing to see @AnthropicAI committing 5% of its IPO to the public good. As I've said for a long time, AI needs a new story and the most important thing AI companies can do is articulate their investment in humans, not just machines.
This is the theme of my conversation with Anthropic president @DanielaAmodei for Alice Walton's Health and AI conference, which we'll be sharing later this week. Daniela and I explore recursive self-improvement for humans, the potential for AI hyper-personalization to transform health, and the value of human wisdom in a world where AI is dethroning intelligence. It’s time to stop placing all our bets on the machines!

Good. 65% of Americans believe that the public should recieve a direct financial benefit from the wealth AI companies generate: justcapital.com/news/the-jus…
We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

Young women are more worried than young men that #AI will reduce their ability to find an entry-level job in their field, and that pattern holds across every field.
The American public agrees. 79% of the public assign responsibility to companies that build that systems if an AI program goes wrong.

Today @mikeallen wrote about #AI's existential legal crisis: “The liabilities won't be limited to AI companies. Any corporate user of powerful AI systems that unleashes rogue agents, even without intending to do harm, would face substantial penalties as well.”
Our polls agree ⬇️
The American public, investors, and corporate leaders assign nearly equal responsibility to those who who build AI systems and those who use them.
