Kathmandu's Boudhanath is said to enshrine a sage venerated by both Buddhists and Hindhus. The site incorporates rituals and symbols of both religions. What can this teach us about potential and practices for incoporating multiple knowledges in education? #epistemicjustice
Wondering why Rasuwa's hydroelectric dam wasn't mentioned by learners when we talked to them about their education and understanding of #environmentaljustice and climate action. Env education needs to incorporate relevant local responses. @ashik77744 @Mohanpaudel1 @racheljwilder

In Nepal, Hindus believe the pipal tree is a symbol of the god Vishnu, friend and preserver of humankind. Could this be an entry point for teaching about #EnvironmentalJustice? JustEd research suggests yp want #environmentaleducation to connect to local context, local knowledge
Mohan Paudel: through analysis of curricula, textbooks and classroom observations, we find #epistemicjustice #environmentaljustice and #transitionaljustice absent from education. There is relevant content, but teachers do not talk about justice and pedagogy is itself unjust.
Ashik Singh: learners tell us they are concerned about human impacts on their immediate natural environments, and suggested traditional practices could contribute to #environmentaljustice and protection. Few opportunities to explore these issues at school in related lessons.
Professor Ganesh Singh: teachers in Nepal focus too much on textbooks and make little effort to support learners to bring their own lived experiences into the classroom and into their learning. #epistemicjustice #environmentaljustice @lizzimilligan @karki_mrigendra @Mohanpaudel1
