Please never forget how taproot scriptsig played out…. We promoted it for things it was never used for. It was used 99% for spam. And then we said “we didn’t specify a use-case, so it’s fine” Specify the use-case for the new OP_BS. If not used as intended, remove OP_BS

Pearl Jam released Vs. in America 33 years ago today, on October 19, 1993. It was their first album with producer Brendan O'Brien and drummer Dave Abbruzzese, and right up to the last minute it was going to be called Five Against One, after a line in "Animal." Some early cassettes still have that title printed on them. Jeff Ament took the cover photo, an angora goat behind a fence on a farm in Victor, Montana. The band refused to make a single music video, and it still sold 950,378 copies in its first five days, the biggest first week since SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991. It spent five weeks at No. 1. 🎸 Favorite track on Vs.: Go, Animal, Daughter, Rearviewmirror or Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town? 🎸 👇️

Seems like bitcoin and crypto will be insanely centralized at this point. A distributed ledger that can only be legally distributed among the big players. Like you've said, most can use bitcoin in a more private way, but most won't because it's really hard.

Pet peeve: people who go to concerts and keep their phones up recording the entire time. It’s more about wanting others to know they’re there than actually enjoying the concert. It is getting worse or I notice more... not sure which. Dance! Wave your hands in the air, sing! I get a pic or two, but your phone up literally the entire time is retarded.

This happened to a person close to me. It is super common. System is designed this way. If you have not formed a trust for your future generations, there is a good chance it will happen to your wealth when you pass as well.
My coworker's mother passed away last November. She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work. He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate. Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office. Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title. He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance. The caseworker sighed and told him: "Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." He offered to pay a monthly settlement. They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction. A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien. You don't own generational wealth. You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.

I'm not @LukeDashjr's biggest fan, but the balls on that man to pull off the continued decentralization of Bitcoin and give maxis a way to move forward with XBT (Bitcoin that is not captured), is something that I am thankful for and I know it has taken great integrity to do it.

Watch how institutional power is not merely normalized, but openly celebrated in Bitcoin's social layer. Wealth, status, access, and proximity to power are elevated, while Bitcoin's founding principles, including sovereignty and the separation of money and state, are ridiculed. The values of the fiat system Bitcoin was created to challenge are being repackaged as Bitcoin's path to success. On November 5, Mars Spits Bars takes this worldview to BTC Inc's Bitcoin Amsterdam, on a Whale Pass-only panel titled: “BIG BITCOIN: IN CONTROL?” The CAPTURE articles documents the institutional relationships and mechanisms of influence. Bitcoin's social layer is the final line of defense against complete institutional capture. But if that very social layer is being conditioned to celebrate institutional power, ridicule principled opposition, and attack those exposing its concentration, who exactly is left to resist it?

My goal was just to finish without stopping. I'm no runner but I jog and haven't completed a 5K in 15 years or more. Five weeks after two rib fractures, I wasn't sure I could do it—but I did! I didn't stop, and while I didn't want to stress the time but I think I did well for 47yr old at 32 minutes ☺️. No filters or fake BS - just the start and the finish. @babeswhobitcoin wired up earbuds only 😂 iykyk
