15th word of the piece gives the whole thing away THROUGH. A downtown core is a place you travel TO, not THROUGH. I live right off Main and people treat it as literal highway. Wonder why there are zero successful businesses that aren't a Tim Hortons on MAIN STREET.

And then there's this bit. "Yeah, I'll concede that fewer people will die and small business might actually stand a chance.... but ME SIT IN TRAFFIC FOR LONGER, THAT BAD!!!!"

Obviously this is typical North American car-centric thinking that hurts basically every city here. But this kind of stuff is really holding Hamilton back and it sucks. Annnyywaayy back to retweeting something I find funny once every few years.

I haven't tweeted (yeah I'm still calling it that) in literally YEARS. But a column with this much backwards, outdated thinking will drag me out of retirement.

"Forced assimilation schools" sounds way more accurate than "residential schools"

Hundreds of graves were found at another forced assimilation school for Indigenous children in Canada — weeks after remains of 215 children were found. 150,000 children were held in the mostly Catholic-run schools, thousands dying from abuse. The church has never apologized.

The state of the debate around vaccinating federal inmates is embarrassing. Doug Ford has joined the chorus, arguing that Ottawa is vaccinating inmates instead of long-term care home residents. This is bullshit. Total, absolute bullshit. Let me break it down:

Read this unbelievable statement from a @FerrisState professor placed on administrative leave Monday. He touches on everything from his use of the n-word, to the legitimacy of the moon landing. “The entire world has fallen under the spell of a satanic, globalist elite.”
