October is Pitbull Awareness Month ~ a reminder of how loving and loyal these dogs can be.
One year ago this month my pittie was tied to a train station in Harlem and left for dead. Today she’s sunning by the pool and still brings me a toy every time she sees me.
Brookie (you might remember her as NYCACC’s Pond as seen in the video below) is living proof that speaking up matters. The January outcry by X advocates over her kill command is how I found her. I wasn’t even looking for a dog… and she’s the most loving dog I’ve ever had.
Thank you @miraclelnresq for letting me foster and adopt her ❤️
Thinking about fostering or adopting an NYCACC dog? Reach out to @MorgFairsdogs or @cathypolicky. They make it easy. 🐶

94 days in and he’s still waiting. You know he’s a great dog — but did you know he’s also incredibly smart and athletic?
Watch him weave through a hula hoop like a pro, tail wagging the whole time. This goofy, happy boy is a fast learner with serious drive. 🤩🩵
His Boroughbreaker notes:
“Whenever we stopped to rest, Unagi was relaxed and didn’t pull. Non-reactive to yappy little dogs, big dogs, construction, pigeons, carts, and loud sirens. Truly so chill.” 😎🏙️
Best with an active, intelligent human who wants a companion for adventures and downtime.
Adopt via the link above.

A remarkable companion
He does require an active, intelligent human
He loves to go, then settle for a break, nothing gets in the way of your time together: yappie Littles, pushy Biggies, pigeons, children playing, the people who stop to compliment him.

🚨Extremely Urgent in Southern California-Adopter or Foster needed Now
This poor boy was found as a stray💔. He is now at the very deadly, Apple Valley Animal Shelter, in Apple Valley, CA‼️
This is very handsome , Belgian Malinois , Bear #247542 . The shelter believes he’s around 2 years old . He’s said to be a nice boy, is well mannered , and is good with other dogs.
Bear has been at the shelter since 9/14 , and this is the only picture I can find of him , and there is still no video . This awful shelter could put him under Kill Command at any time!
Please go and adopt or offer to foster Bear so a rescue can pull him. Rescues are completely overwhelmed in CA, and can’t pull dogs without a Foster or Adopter’s home to take them to .
Out of state adoption is possible through a rescue🇺🇸. Adopter pays for transport.
Please share him. Apple Valley gets very little foot traffic. The dogs there depend on us to get their faces out there.🙏🐾

Monie is life, laughter, love & opinions
4yr old girlie who loves squeaky toys, affectionate, social & so tired of shelter life.
Always up for a walk, to play independently w/ a toy or chew on a bone. Cuddle in a good spot when her exuberance is drained.
Tons of love to share with someone who will giver her time to shed the stress of cage life. Teach her games & involve her in decisions🤭
*If you believe misery loves company. Prefer to be cranky & return everything. Monie is NOT for you.
