Yes, things do need to change. I should be able to walk into any establishment that sells firearms, choose the one I want, pay for it, and walk out, just like any other item for sale in any store. Forcing me to fill out paperwork and ask permission to exercise my fundamental right is unacceptable.
I should be able to order a firearm online and have it shipped to my home, just like I can a moped.

ATF Releases NFA guidance in response to the Texas NFA lawsuit:
"Effective October 9, 2026, ATF will no longer require individuals to seek ATF approval under the NFA before making or transferring short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and “any other weapon[s]” as defined in 26 U.S.C. § 5845(e). ATF will also no longer require such items to be registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record. These policies apply uniformly to anyone otherwise subject to these requirements, not just to the plaintiffs in the litigation."

My Flock take is that even if their cameras really did cut crime in half or something (and they won't), it's not worth becoming a police state.
Also, why will our government do literally anything EXCEPT quit releasing repeat offenders?
One of the biggest lies we've been fed in recent years is "you can't incarcerate your way out of crime." Yes you absolutely can! I'm all for second chances if the first crime was not egregious, but not third, fourth, and fifth chances.
We should not have to turn ourselves into a surveillance state because we feel icky locking up dirtbags.
And remember, stopping crime is the BEST possible intention they could have for Flock cameras. The worst one is a Chinese-style social credit tracking apparatus.

The ATF has proposed a "rule change" that would essentially clarify that if you're traveling, particularly interstate, and stop to get gas/your car breaks down/etc... and you have an item banned in the state where that stop happens then you shouldn't be arrested for violating said "ban state laws."
Well, the democrats are VERY mad about this. Several Senators (the ones you'd expect), sent a letter [FR Doc # 2026-08916 on the federal register if you want to look it up] to the ATF complaining about it and what is the first reason they say they oppose this new rule?
You can't make this shit up. They claim the ATF doesn't have the power to make rules 🤡
I agree actually with that but this is the first time I can recall democrats saying this (funny how that works). I'll be bookmarking this for future reference when they inevitably call for anti gun "rules" changes in the future.
