This is the story of professional football’s most persistent ghost.
The story of a man who has carved out a 12-year career as a pro punter without ever appearing in an NFL game.
He’s existed on the margins of the league for one very specific reason: his left foot.
He is proof that extraordinary careers can unfold entirely in the shadows. And the dream isn’t dead yet.
This is the story of Brock Miller.

Jets Humiliated by Dolphins as Aaron Glenn Seals His Fate - Postgame Show! xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1RJjpbmVP…
It all adds up.
Didn’t use a TO at the end of the 1st half so they forfeited a scoring opportunity.
Missed a FG. Didn’t score a TD from 1st and goal at the 1.
Football games are won in the margins and the Jets consistently lose there. Every week. Without fail.
The Jets are at a schematic disadvantage and a coaching/game management disadvantage every week.
Hard to win consistently in the NFL when that’s the case even if the roster is talented and the offense is explosive.
(tweeting during the game here but) even if the Jets find a way to come back and win this game the point still stands.
The coaching has been a hindrance today, not an advantage.
And that tends to be the case for the current iteration of this team/staff.

What's WRONG With the Jets Offense?? + Dolphins Week 7 Preview xitter.cf/i/broadcasts/1vJpPNbBo…
The Jets special teams has taken a major step back in 2026.
The Jets rank 26th in the NFL in average KR yards and 19th in average KR yards allowed.
Isaiah Williams in particular has struggled mightily.
Williams ranks 55th out of 55 qualified KRs with a 43.2 PFF return grade.
He also ranks dead last among qualifiers with a 32.4 PFF punt return grade. No other qualifier is below a 42.0.
It’s becoming a major issue for the Jets. They’re consistently losing the field position battle, and their offense/defense isn’t good enough to overcome it.
Braelon Allen ranks 5th in rushing yards over the last 3 weeks behind only Kenneth Walker, Bijan Robinson, James Cook, and Bucky Irving.
His 221 yards after contact since Week 4 ranks 2nd in the NFL behind only Robinson.
Allen also leads the NFL with 15 missed tackles forced and 10 runs of 10+ yards in that timeframe.
Absolutely needs to be an important part of the offense moving forward even once Breece Hall returns.
The Jets’ offense has taken a major step back these last few weeks.
The Jets rank 28th in offensive EPA/play from Weeks 4-6 after ranking 11th from Weeks 1-3.
A big reason for it has been negative EPA as a result of sacks.
The Jets have the 2nd highest sack% allowed in the NFL (11.4%) + the 2nd lowest sack EPA (-22.29).
This is despite not even ranking in the bottom-8 in pressure% allowed.
It’s an everyone problem IMO. Geno, Reich/gameplan, and yes the OL at times.
Would like to see the Jets lean on the quick-passing game more, run more play action and screens too.
Jets rank 22nd and 27th in play action% and screen% respectively over the last 3 weeks. Was a bigger part of the gameplan Weeks 1-3.
Jamien Sherwood has the 2nd highest PFF grade among all qualified LBs (min. 50 snaps) over the last 3 weeks (89.9).
He also ranks 4th among LBs in that timeframe with 29 total tackles, 7th with 11 run stops, and has allowed just 6 catches for 43 yards (8 targets) in coverage, per PFF.
Numbers can lie sometimes, but I do think it’s been a pretty good stretch for Sherwood.
David Bailey currently has PFF’s highest coverage grade (90.6) among all 71 EDGE to play at least 10 coverage snaps in 2026.
This means absolutely nothing fwiw. Just thought it was funny to share given the “Bailey dropping into coverage too much” discourse.
It has been an inauspicious rookie season for D’Angelo Ponds to this point.
His 26.7 PFF grade ranks 163rd out of all 163 CBs to play any defensive snaps in 2026.
He’s allowed 3 catches for 48 yards and a TD on 4 targets despite playing just 17 coverage snaps. He also has two penalties.
Ponds has surrendered a 156.3 passer rating when targeted this season.
He was targeted on 3 of his 5 coverage snaps on Sunday. Teams are attacking him when he’s on the field.
DISCLAIMER: Obviously this is an *extremely* small sample size (34 total snaps) + he missed the whole summer + he’s learning a new position.
I still think Ponds will be a really good NFL player. But yeah safe to say he’s really struggling out there right now.
If we treat Week 6 as Omar Cooper Jr.’s actual NFL debut, he would’ve been the first Jets rookie to record 100+ receiving yards in his first NFL game.
Cooper and Kenyon Sadiq are also the first rookie teammates in Jets history to each record 6+ catches, 100+ yards, and a TD in a game during the same season.
Lowest-graded #Jets by PFF in Week 6:
• D’Angelo Ponds: 26.4
• Azareye’h Thomas: 42.5
• Dane Belton: 44.3
• Demario Davis: 48.6
• Tim Patrick: 50.3
• Josh Myers: 50.8
• Jowon Briggs: 54.6
• Nate Lynn: 55.2
• Jeremy Ruckert: 55.6
• Harrison Phillips: 55.6
Highest-graded #Jets by PFF in Week 6:
• Mason Taylor: 81.6
• Omar Cooper Jr: 78.0
• Jamien Sherwood: 76.6
• Joe Tippmann: 73.7
• Jordan Meredith: 72.6
• Jelani Woods: 71.5
• Braelon Allen: 70.9
• David Bailey: 69.4
• Armand Membou: 67.7
• Olu Fashanu: 67.4
• Darrell Jackson Jr: 66.4
Feels like we do Garrett Wilson target discourse after every loss too.
Wilson entered today’s game top-10 in the NFL in targets and is now 11th after today’s games.
Players who have fewer targets than Wilson in 2026 include Drake London, Ja’Marr Chase, Mike Evans, Tetairoa McMillan, Zay Flowers, Tee Higgins, etc.
Think that discourse is overblown.
Big issue for the offense today was that they had no answer for the blitz. Reich was dropping Geno back and letting NE tee off on him.
If the pass pro plan was better and Reich got Geno on the move more, all the skill guys - Garrett included - would benefit.
It’s not as simple as “give player x numbers of targets.”
Think there was more the Jets could’ve done to emphasize the quick passing game to get Geno in a rhythm, counter the blitz, AND get guys like Wilson and Sadiq more involved.
But again THAT is the core of the issue. Not a lack of targets.
For as much as today’s loss is excusable in the micro, *eventually* Aaron Glenn and the Jets have to win a game they’re not supposed to.
Would not feel particularly good about a 6-7 win season where you only beat teams you were better than/on the level of.
Pull off an upset. Get your signature win to sell ownership that you can punch above your weight class with a worse roster.
Competitive losses are a starting point and indications of progress, but progress wasn’t and shouldn’t be the bar IMO.
Again, this is a January conversation and not an October one. Just reflecting on my expectations for the remainder of 2026.
Eventually you need to beat a team that’s better than you. Today wasn’t that day evidently.
