K9 Ston is at it AGAIN! Another day, another find! K9 Ston and Officer Jaime are back at it, uncovering 4 kilos of cocaine hidden inside a vehicle battery! They might say it’s “not a lot,” but we say every kilo taken off the streets makes a difference! Keep up the incredible work, team!

🦈Look who made a splash during Red Ribbon Week! We love seeing our K9s.org K9s out in their communities, and K9 Aga at Bastrop ISD understood the assignment! From spreading an important message about making healthy choices to dressing up as a SHARK for spirit day, K9 Aga made Red Ribbon Week extra special! This is what our K9s4KIDs program is all about—building connections, creating positive experiences, and helping keep students safe, one paw at a time!

Today, our mission hit closer to home than ever before. One of our very own, someone who has been part of K9s.org since the very beginning, experienced something no parent should ever have to go through. Her son’s school was placed on lockdown following a serious threat. For hours, she was left with fear, uncertainty, and the heartbreaking reality of not knowing if her child was safe. Thankfully, the situation was resolved, and students were safely reunited with their families. THIS. This is why we do what we do. Every day at K9s.org, we work to place highly trained K9s in schools to help detect threats, strengthen security, and protect students and staff. But today, our mission wasn’t just about another school or another community. It was personal. It was one of our own families. No parent should have to sit and wonder if their child is going to make it home from school. We know a K9 can’t prevent every threat. But we also know that every additional layer of protection matters. Every school deserves the resources to be proactive, not just reactive. We don’t do this because we think something might happen. We do this because situations like today remind us that it can happen anywhere, to anyone, including our own families. This is our mission. This is our purpose. And today was another reminder of why we will never stop fighting to make our schools safer. 🐾 Every Community Deserves Protection. #k9s #k9 #workingdog #schooldog #policedog

We talk a lot about the incredible things these K9s do for us. The lives they protect, the courage they show, and the sacrifices they make. But what we don’t talk about enough is just how deeply they are loved. To the world, they’re working dogs. To their handlers, they’re partners, protectors, best friends, and family. Behind every brave K9 is a dog who just wants to make their person proud. And behind every K9 is a handler who loves them more than words can say. Sometimes it’s the little moments that show the biggest love. So tell us, what’s your favorite way to show your dog just how much they mean to you?

A little festive jailhouse fun! Meet K9 Sigma, a 5-year-old dual-purpose K9 who stopped by for a little Halloween fun alongside Sheriff Brian Hawthorne and Mayes Middleton! While Sigma isn’t one of our K9’s, we’re always happy to be in the company of incredible working K9s and the people who serve alongside them!

Did you know K9 bite training is about much more than teaching a dog to bite? It’s about control, discipline, and precision. K9s are trained to respond to specific commands, engage when directed, and release immediately when instructed. This training helps ensure that even in high-stress situations, a K9 remains focused on its handler and can respond appropriately. A successful K9 isn’t just powerful. It’s obedient, controlled, and dependable.

A little focus, a little patience, and a whole lot of personality! Even the simplest moments are part of building a strong, confident K9. And of course, sometimes you just have to show off a little!

TRAINING FOR REAL-WORLD SITUATIONS! Gunfire neutrality and teammate neutrality are critical for working K9s. Whether shots are fired or officers are moving together in a stack, our dogs must remain focused and controlled without reacting to the noise or mistaking a teammate for a threat. Because control is just as important as courage.

ANOTHER HUGE BUST! Officer Jamie and K9 Ston are at it AGAIN! Last night, this incredible team took 73 KILOS of cocaine off the streets during another impressive stop! That’s 73 kilos of dangerous drugs that won’t make it into our communities. Outstanding work by Officer Jamie and K9 Ston! Keep up the incredible work!

When our K9 Ambassador Frankie heard his friend say he didn’t have any friends, he made sure to remind him that he had one right by his side. We love you Frankie!!!
