"Trust in The Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5-6 This is such an important life principle. I've always had a problem yielding myself to God's will, because I tend to think that MY idea is the BEST idea. As humans, we generally take the obvious path forward, but the truth is, many times the obvious choice is the absolute wrong choice. When this verse says "lean not unto your own understanding" it's quite a challenge to follow, because it defies our human nature. However, there is a promise in this verse. It says "if we acknowledge Him in all our ways" He will 'direct us' in a perfect way. Being confused and lost in our thought process is a daily battle, but the way to confidence in our decisions is clearly laid out in this passage. I ask Him every day to please make sure I yield to His will, regardless of what I think I should be doing, and over the years, He has given me some directives that were totally counter to the path I thought was the correct one.
