Heard Rudy speak my very first coaches clinic in 1995. Still reference what I learned from his presentation today with hitters I’ve worked with.
Always great connecting with a new group of C’s for the summer. Chopping it up, working on what they need, best part are the connections made.

Been coaching baseball for 35 years. I can confidently say …
The same fundamentals that won baseball games in my year #1 still wins them today. Even more so now, because others are neglecting the basics at an alarming rate. So many are mistakenly seeking a magic potion. When doing simple better than everyone else is the key. On offense, defense, team play, etc.
With a few dual position guys if you suited up for work your in the Boxer Catching club. Proud to have been able to coach these guys up this season. 8 deep but one cohesive unit.
Good day of work. Blocking to work deflection control, and vertical into secondary transfer progressions.

Great players bring the right approach every day no matter what. Wins are just a byproduct of the foundation you build.
As a coach my job is to shoot them straight. If you tolerate a day off in prep you teach them that excellence is optional. It never is.

Combo drill “fungo” swipe tag n roll, into fielding a bunted ball is a great way to stack the fundamental drills. After the throw C hustles down to 1B to await the next throw.
