An estimated 75% of former NFL players who died between 2008 and 2023 had chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, the neurodegenerative brain disease tied to high-impact sports such as football, according to a new study.

With No. 1 Miami coming to town this weekend, a game Iโll never forget
Michael Carter: 308 rushing yards
Javonte Williams: 236 rushing yards
544 combined as UNC ran all over Miami in a 62-26 win.
Five years later and it still stands as the FBS record for most rushing yards by two teammates in a single game

Joe Rogan thought it was fake news when he heard Brazil bulldozed the Amazon rainforest to host a climate summit.
ROGAN: โThat sounds like horsesh*t.โ
Then Jamie pulled up the BBCโฆ
ROGAN: โOh my god. Itโs real!โ
Brazil cut a four-lane highway through tens of thousands of acres of protected rainforest so COP30 attendees wouldnโt get stuck in traffic.
ROGAN: โYouโre chopping down trees to protest chopping down trees.โ
Joeโs deep sigh at the end says it all.

Fun little aside: During the frantic negotiations over the weekend, an unlikely ally emerged-- the @WWE . At one point, sources told ESPN that Steve Koonin Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena CEO reached out to WWE President Nick Khan and asked if he'd be willing to move the telecast of this week's Smackdown to accommodate Game 6 of the WNBA Finals on Friday night.
Smackdown usually airs at 8 p.m. on Friday nights on USA Network, which is the broadcast network for this game. If Game 6 were to be played from 7-9 pm at State Farm Arena, the WWE would have to move an hour later.ย
Koonin, the former President of TBS, had known Khan for decades. Khan told him they'd be fine with the later broadcast window if thatโs what was needed to help the WNBA Finals play in a more appropriate arena.ย
After that sign off however, new concerns were raised by WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert about playing a potential Game 7 on Tuesday, Nov. 3, Election Night. So that plan fell apart and the league moved back on to the idea of playing at 12:30 pm on Thursday.ย
Smackdown will remain at its regularly scheduled time. The Dream announced earlier Wednesday that Thursdayโs Game 6 is sold out. espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/503โฆ

I've been saying this for years: this era of NBA guys keep getting hurt because they DONโT train hard at all. All one on one half speed skill training, coast in the offseason, come back and go full force, then get hurt. Same cycle ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ

The catch with a lot of this is that African and Carribean immigrants almost universally outperform Black Americans.
For all races, "Just keep the current ethnic mix" is a FAR stronger argument than "Taiwanese and Nigerian people fail here."
NEW: Mike Waltz says a Cuban official who allegedly attacked one of his staffers during a confrontation at the UN is getting a one-way trip back to Cuba.
The U.S. ambassador says the trouble started when Cuban diplomats tried to pressure a UN clerk into shutting off his microphone as he spoke against the regime.
But things escalated off-camera. Waltz says a staffer filming the confrontation was pushed and slapped, with a Cuban official knocking the phone out of his hand.
Now, Waltz says Secretary of State Marco Rubio has ordered the official sent home.
