Local mechanical response under multiaxial loads is key to better design forming processes. We developed a simpler testing apparatus to probe the micro-mechanical response of a sheet material in-situ under biaxial loading using synchrotron x-rays here - link.springer.com/article/10…

Melt pool temperatures are key in understanding microstructure development in AM and welding. Through this work, we formulated and evaluated one such methodology using dynamic synchrotron x-ray radiography data and the Beer-Lambert's law.
