Kitna dukh hai iske jeevan mein. Roj nai baat par chhaati peetne lagta hai. Dekhte hain kal kis baat par iska hivda jale.
Recently, a distant relative I barely know visited my home in Gurgaon. He is probably in his early 60s.
He finished his dinner, got up and went to the sink to wash his hands. Why couldn’t he take the plate with him?
I was thinking, who exactly are you expecting to pick up your plate? You’re not even in your own house.
Of course, I didn’t say anything. He was a guest and older than me.
The disturbing part isn’t even that he left his plate on the table. I genuinely don’t think it registered in his mind that he had left anything behind.
In his mind, dinner was over. The plate? Someone else would pick it up.
That’s how Indian men are trained. First your mother picks up after you, then your sister and then your wife.
Travel outside India and you realise how absurd this is.
We talk endlessly about preserving Indian culture. But we rarely ask which parts of that culture actually deserve to be preserved.
If ‘culture’ means a grown man can’t even pick up his own dirty plate because his mother, sister or wife will do it, maybe that part of our culture deserves to die.
Not everything old deserves to be preserved.

Tambe marrying Lokhande is Alloying.
Lokhande marrying Pitale is brazing
Khote marrying Khare is cheating.
Kale marrying Gore is contrasting.
Hiwale marrying Unhale is Global warming.
But Wagh marrying Waghmare is pure suicide!
😁
I had heard one more joke in school from my Parsi friends - Daruwala marrying Batliwala - that is truly intoxicating.

Haha. Kings like hāla (sātavāhana king from pratishthāna and author of Gāthā Saptashati) and BhartRhari (ShRngāra shatakam in addition to Niti and vairāgya) lived an “interesting” lives for sure.
If one can ask anything to gods it can be a life like hāla and/or bhartRhari- the dudes enjoyed every aspect of life intensely.
Their thoughts on politics/dharma and vairāgya too are as awesome and intense like their erotic thoughts. What a life to live!

Once there was a shishya of one old Guru. That shishya used to eat immense amounts of food and love it. He was obese.
The Guru used to be annoyed at the Shishya because of this habit of overeating.
One day Guru fell ill … badly ill and was on death bed.
Finally Shishya felt very bad and asked Guru if there was any last wish.
Guru said to shishya : you like food too much so remove all your teeth so you can only consume milk.
Chant Rama nama and write it in note books .
So… after Guru died, the Shishya finally removed all his teeth (this is a real story).
Then liquid diet only after that and living on Rama Nama.
He started writing Rama Nama continuously.
One day, he was at a Badha grast person’s house with the sack of books of Rama Nama.
He told the parents to just keep the books and write Rama Nama as penance for 1 year.
The next week… the Badha grast person recovered.
So… one should realise that while people nowadays judge Sri Rama… imagine the power of the Devata that it has such a powerful and profound effect on humans even today so many thousands of years later.
So there must obviously be far more to it and Shakti is in the Nama which is flowing from that Rupa of Rama.
So our limited understanding is not useful to judge an Avatara like that.

Hindu way of Engineering :
do we create something because we can, or do we do it because there's an underlying philosophy, a deep sense of purpose to it, which pervades beyond the sensory organs ?
A 3 day workshop was held to understand the Dharmika way of Engineering, coupled with real world practical experiences, as inherited by traditional craftsmen, taking woodworking as an example.
Grateful to @vaidikabharata and @iitroorkee for making this possible. Hope to see more such events in future!
