🇮🇳 SHE DIDN’T JUST DREAM OF A FREE INDIA—SHE TOOK UP THE CAUSE AND FOUGHT FOR IT! 🇮🇳 Saluting the fearless daughter of Bharat, Captain Lakshmi Sahgal, on her birth anniversary! Born on 24 October 1914, Captain Lakshmi Sahgal was a woman of extraordinary courage who answered Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s call to fight for India's independence. A qualified doctor, she left behind the security of civilian life to join the Indian National Army (INA) and dedicate herself to the motherland. As the commander of the Rani of Jhansi Regiment, an all-women military unit, she inspired hundreds of women to break social barriers, embrace military discipline and stand shoulder to shoulder in the struggle for freedom. In 1943, she was appointed Minister for Women's Affairs in Netaji’s Provisional Government of Free India. Her leadership proved that the spirit of patriotism, sacrifice and bravery knows no gender. Even after independence, her mission to serve India continued. She devoted her life to treating the poor, helping refugees, fighting for women's rights and standing up for social justice. In recognition of her extraordinary service, she received the Padma Vibhushan in 1998. Captain Lakshmi Sahgal left this world on 23 July 2012, but her courage, sacrifice and devotion to the nation remain immortal. On her birth anniversary, let us remember the brave warrior who turned patriotism into action and service into a lifelong mission. The nation will forever remain indebted to her and to all the brave revolutionaries who sacrificed so much for our freedom. 🌺 Veerangana Captain Lakshmi Sahgal Amar Rahein! 🇮🇳 Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Salute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the brave soldiers of the Azad Hind Fauj, and every freedom fighter who laid down their lives for India's independence. HE PLAYED RAVANA ON STAGE, BUT IN REAL LIFE, HE BECAME A HERO. On October 20, 2018, during Dussehra celebrations near Joda Phatak in Amritsar, hundreds of people gathered near railway tracks to watch Ravana’s effigy burn. Among them was Dalbir Singh, who played Ravana in the Ramlila. When he spotted an approaching train, Dalbir reportedly rushed to warn the crowd and pushed 7–8 people away from the tracks. He managed to save lives—but tragically, he was struck by the train himself. The horrific accident claimed 61 lives. Dalbir left behind his mother, wife, and an eight-month-old daughter. That day, the man who portrayed Ravana on stage showed the courage and humanity of a real-life hero. He risked his own life trying to save others. Some people play heroes. Others prove their humanity through their actions. Dalbir Singh will be remembered for the lives he tried to save. 📷📷 #DalbirSingh #AmritsarTrainTragedy #RealLifeHero #Humanity #Dussehra

SURAT UNIVERSITY INSTALLS 354 SAFETY FANS IN HOSTELS — BUT STUDENT SAFETY GOES BEYOND INFRASTRUCTURE. Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) in Surat has installed 354 spring-loaded safety fans designed to drop when a load exceeding 10 kg is applied, as a preventive safety measure. But protecting students means more than installing safety equipment. Academic pressure, loneliness and anxiety about the future can also take a toll on young minds. Accessible counsellors, confidential mental health services and a campus culture where students feel safe asking for help are equally important. A truly safe campus is one where students are protected not just physically, but emotionally too. 📷 What more should colleges do to support students’ mental well-being? #StudentMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #StudentSafety #MentalHealth #CampusSafety

REMEMBERING SHAHEED ASHFAQULLAH KHAN ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY — A FRIENDSHIP THAT ROSE ABOVE RELIGION !! “One swore on the Quran, the other held his sacred thread…” But when it came to the nation, they both took the same oath — to Mother India. Nearly a hundred years ago, when the British were breaking India through their policy of “Divide and Rule,” two revolutionaries stood tall and shattered the walls of religion with their blood. One was Ram Prasad Bismil — a devout Hindu who performed daily prayers, wore the sacred thread, and believed deeply in the Bhagavad Gita. The other was Ashfaqulla Khan — a devoted Muslim who offered namaz five times a day and held the Quran close to his heart. But when they stood together, they were not Hindu… they were not Muslim… they were simply “Revolutionary Indians.” 📷 The Prison Scene That Shakes the Soul After the historic Kakori Train Robbery, both were arrested. The British believed they could break them by using religion. A jailer whispered poison into Ashfaqulla’s ear: “Why are you sacrificing your life for a Hindu? He only wants rule for his own religion…” Ashfaqulla smiled. There was no fear in that smile — only pride. He replied: “Ram Prasad Bismil is my brother. The India he dreams of is the same India I dream of. You may cut off my head, but you cannot separate our souls.” The Depth of Their Brotherhood A few days before his execution, Bismil met his mother in jail. His eyes filled with tears. His mother scolded him: “Are you afraid?” Bismil answered: “No, Mother… I do not fear death. What pains me is that my brother Ashfaq is in another prison. I wish we could hang from the same gallows.” Imagine that. Death is standing at the door, yet a revolutionary is more hurt by distance from his friend than by his own execution. They ate from the same plate. If anyone questioned Bismil for eating with a Muslim, he would say: “Ashfaq’s heart is purer than the Ganga.” The Final Moments Kissing the noose, Ashfaqulla said: “My hands do not tremble, because I am sacrificing myself for my motherland.” Elsewhere, Bismil sang: “Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamare dil mein hai…” (The desire for martyrdom now lives in our hearts…) Two voices. Two religions. One spirit — India. Both were executed in December 1927. But their friendship became immortal. And Today? Today we fight over names. Over clothes. Over food. Over religion. Sometimes it feels as though the souls of Bismil and Ashfaqulla must look at us and weep. Their sacrifice was not for one religion. It was for all Indians. A Question for the Heart After reading about their eternal brotherhood, should we still divide ourselves in the name of religion? Or can we rebuild that shared India — the “United Hindustan” — that these two friends envisioned while walking toward the gallows? #ShaheedBismil #ShaheedAshfaqullahKhan #IndianFreedomFighters #UnityInDiversity #BrotherhoodOfIndia #PatriotismAboveReligion #SacrificeForNation #AzadiKeDeewane #MartyrsOfIndia #DeshBhakti #InquilabZindabad #TrueNationalism

“My parents had just one expectation from me — study honestly, and they would handle the rest.” Indumathi grew up in Tirupati in a modest household where her father earned a living driving a lorry. Money was always tight, plans were uncertain, but one thing was never compromised — her education. After Class 10, several private colleges offered her free admissions because of her marks. But a teacher suggested a wiser, slower route: pursue a diploma first, reduce expenses, and build step by step. She trusted that advice. She enrolled in a government polytechnic, excelled in her studies, and eventually went on to earn a gold medal in engineering. Soon after, she landed a software job worth ₹10 lakh a year. For her family, it felt like the destination they had prayed for. But for Indumathi, it was only a milestone. She left the job and moved to Delhi with a bigger goal — to prepare for the UPSC Engineering Services Examination. There were no savings to fall back on. Her parents couldn’t afford coaching. That’s when her teachers and kind-hearted supporters stepped forward. One helped with hostel expenses. Another arranged coaching support. She carried their faith like a responsibility. When the results came, Indumathi had secured All India Rank 75 in the UPSC IES. She went back to her school, bowed to her teacher, and said softly, “This journey began because you showed me the right path.” #UPSC #WomenInSTEM #Education

You may have seen the photograph of an Indian Army officer wearing a hard protective mask over his face and assumed it was part of his uniform. It is not. That mask hides wounds the body barely survives and a sacrifice the heart struggles to comprehend. Behind it is Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi Nair, a soldier whose courage does not shout—it endures in silence. In March 2017, during a counter-terror operation in Tral, Pulwama, intelligence confirmed terrorists were hiding inside a civilian house. Sending soldiers inside would have meant certain death, and using heavy firepower would have endangered innocent lives. Faced with that choice, then Major Rishi did not order his men forward. He stepped ahead himself. As he moved into the kill zone to place an explosive, three bullets struck him—one grazing his helmet, one tearing through his nose, and one shattering his jaw. Blood poured, his face collapsed, and his voice was lost, yet his resolve remained unbroken. Despite catastrophic injuries and the inability to speak, he continued the operation. He refused evacuation until every terrorist was neutralised and every soldier under his command was safe. Only when the mission succeeded did he allow himself to fall. The cost was immense. He underwent 28 major surgeries. His face was rebuilt with metal plates and bone grafts. He lost the ability to speak and eat normally. Doctors believed no more could ever be asked of him and prepared his discharge. He refused to accept it. Rishi Rajalakshmi Nair did not ask for sympathy, medals, or comfort. He asked only to return to duty. Through years of painful rehabilitation, he did exactly that. He rejoined active service and continued serving the nation he had nearly given his life for. In 2024, when devastating landslides struck Wayanad in Kerala, he was there again—wearing the same mask, moving through mud and debris, leading rescue operations and pulling survivors to safety. From counter-terror missions in Kashmir to disaster relief in Kerala, his service never paused. He lives quietly, without seeking attention, while many remain unaware of what that mask truly represents. It is not a symbol. It is not a choice. It is the price he paid. Lt. Col. Rishi Rajalakshmi Nair is remembered not because he demands recognition, but because when it mattered most, he chose duty over himself. #IndianArmy #LtColRishiNair #ServiceBeforeSelf #TrueHero #CourageInAction #Sacrifice #RealLifeHero #DutyAboveAll #Kashmir #Wayanad #UnbreakableSpirit #SilentBravery

WHEN INDIA'S ROCKET FAILED, ONE LEADER STOOD BESIDE HIS SCIENTIST. WHEN IT SUCCEEDED, HE STEPPED ASIDE. 📷📷 This is the story of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Professor Satish Dhawan—a lesson in leadership that the world still needs to learn. On August 10, 1979, India was waiting for history to be made. At Sriharikota, a team of dedicated Indian scientists was preparing to launch SLV-3, India's first experimental Satellite Launch Vehicle. The mission was led by a young scientist named Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Years of hard work had gone into this moment. The countdown began. The rocket roared to life and lifted into the sky. For a few moments, everything appeared to be going according to plan. But then, disaster struck. The rocket's second-stage control system failed. The vehicle could not maintain its intended flight path, and the mission failed to place its payload into orbit. India's ambitious space mission had suffered a major setback. For Dr. Kalam, it was a deeply painful moment. He had led the project, and he carried the weight of its failure. Imagine spending years building something you believe in, watching it rise into the sky, and then seeing it fall short of its goal. The disappointment was immense. The questions were unavoidable. What would happen next? Who would face the press? Who would take responsibility? That was when Professor Satish Dhawan, the chairman of ISRO, demonstrated what leadership truly meant. Instead of leaving the young project director alone to face the consequences, Dhawan addressed the media and stood behind the team. He understood that scientific progress involves risk, experimentation and failure. His responsibility as a leader was not merely to celebrate success, but also to protect his team when things went wrong. He did not allow one failed mission to become the final judgment on years of scientific effort. And the story did not end there. The scientists returned to their work. They studied the failure, analysed the technical problems and prepared for another attempt. Almost a year later, on July 18, 1980, SLV-3 was ready to fly again. Once more, the countdown began. Once more, the rocket rose into the sky. This time, the mission succeeded. The Rohini satellite, RS-1, was successfully placed into orbit. India had achieved a major milestone in its space programme, becoming the sixth nation to place a satellite into orbit using its own launch vehicle. For the scientists who had endured the earlier disappointment, it was a moment of extraordinary joy. But what happened after the successful launch is what makes this story truly unforgettable. Professor Dhawan asked Dr. Kalam to address the press conference with his team. Think about that for a moment. When the mission failed, the chairman had faced the media. When the mission succeeded, he gave the project director and his team the opportunity to receive the recognition they had earned. When there was failure, he accepted responsibility. When there was success, he shared the credit. Years later, Dr. Kalam recalled another deeply personal moment from that successful day. Amid the celebrations, Professor Dhawan took him away from the crowd. The two went to the launch pad and sat together, quietly watching the waves of the Bay of Bengal. Away from the cameras, the applause and the excitement, Dhawan acknowledged Kalam's years of hard work, patience and perseverance. It was a moment of recognition that went beyond a successful rocket launch. A senior leader had recognised the effort of a younger scientist—not merely for the result, but for everything it had taken to reach that result. And Dr. Kalam never forgot it. He carried that lesson into his own life and leadership. Because sometimes, the greatest contribution a leader makes is not a decision, a speech or a successful project. It is the confidence they give another person to rise after a setback. Professor Satish Dhawan showed Dr. Kalam that leadership is not about standing in the spotlight when everything goes right. It is about standing beside your people when everything goes wrong—and making sure they receive the credit when things finally go right. A rocket may take a nation into space. But a great leader helps the people behind that rocket believe they can reach even higher. That is the legacy of Professor Satish Dhawan and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Not just a story about a failed rocket and a successful launch. A story about trust. Responsibility. Humility. And the kind of leadership that builds a nation's future. 📷 India needed a rocket to reach the stars. Its scientists also needed leaders who believed in them. #APJAbdulKalam #SatishDhawan #ISRO #Inspiration #India

📷 On the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, we remember not just a President, but a dreamer who taught an entire nation to believe in itself. 📷 This isn’t merely an old photograph of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. It is a glimpse of a young boy whose dreams were far greater than his circumstances — a boy from Rameswaram who believed that education, hard work and determination could change the course of his life. Born into a humble family, he grew up understanding the value of discipline, honesty and perseverance. As a child, he distributed newspapers to support his family while nurturing a curiosity about the world that would eventually take him to extraordinary heights. From studying aeronautical engineering to becoming one of India's most respected scientists, from contributing to the nation's missile programme to serving as the 11th President of India, his journey was a testament to the power of perseverance. But what made him truly special was not the position he held. It was the person he remained. Despite reaching the highest constitutional office in the country, he never stopped being a student, a teacher and a dreamer. He found his greatest joy in interacting with young minds and encouraging them to think beyond their limitations. He believed that dreams are not what we see while sleeping, but what keep us awake with the determination to achieve something meaningful. He taught us that failure is not the end of the journey, that knowledge is the greatest strength, and that success becomes truly meaningful when it serves humanity. The young boy from Rameswaram eventually became the People's President — a leader who connected with children, inspired scientists and earned the affection of millions. Even years after his passing, his words continue to awaken ambition, his life continues to teach humility, and his vision continues to inspire India's future. Some people become famous because of the positions they hold. Dr. Kalam became unforgettable because of the lives he touched. Today, on his birth anniversary, let us honour him not merely with tributes, but by embracing his values: dream fearlessly, work honestly, keep learning and serve the nation with sincerity. Happy birth anniversary, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. We miss you, Missile Man. We miss you, People's President. We miss you, our eternal teacher. Your life may have ended, but the light of your dreams will continue to guide generations of Indians. 📷📷 #DrAPJAbdulKalam #KalamSir #MissileManOfIndia #PeoplesPresident #BirthAnniversary

Today is the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the man who taught India to dream beyond its limitations. 📷📷 But behind the journey of this extraordinary scientist was a remarkable story involving former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi — a story of vision, courage, and the power of believing in India's potential. In 1984, when Indira Gandhi visited India's Defence Research and Development Laboratory in Hyderabad, she reviewed the country's ambitious missile programme. During the discussion, she pointed towards a world map and challenged Kalam to think about developing a missile capable of reaching a target approximately 5,000 kilometres away. Think about that moment. India was still building its technological capabilities, yet the country's leadership was already asking its scientists to imagine what seemed far beyond their reach. For Kalam, this was not merely a question about missiles. It was a challenge to dream bigger for India. But there is another beautiful story that reveals Kalam's simplicity. In 1980, when India's SLV-3 rocket successfully placed the Rohini satellite into orbit, Kalam was invited to attend a meeting celebrating the achievement. He was worried about appearing before senior leaders in his simple clothes and slippers. His mentor, Professor Satish Dhawan, reassured him with words that Kalam remembered throughout his life: “You are beautifully clothed in your success.” Imagine the young scientist, who had spent years working quietly in laboratories, now standing before the nation's leaders — not because of his appearance, but because of what he and his team had achieved. That is what made Dr. Kalam special. He believed that a scientist's greatest identity was not the position he held, but the problems he solved and the dreams he helped turn into reality. On his birth anniversary, these stories remind us that great nations are built when visionary leaders encourage scientists, mentors inspire young minds, and ordinary people dare to pursue extraordinary dreams. Dr. Kalam's life leaves us with a timeless message: Dream big, work hard, stay humble, and never underestimate what India can achieve. 📷 #APJAbdulKalam #BirthAnniversary #MissileManOfIndia #IndiraGandhi #Inspiration

Today is the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, a man who left behind no mansion, no luxury-filled lifestyle, and no desire to accumulate wealth — but a legacy that continues to inspire millions. He left behind thousands of books, a few personal belongings, and a lifetime of dreams for India. Dr. Kalam spent his life serving the nation, inspiring young minds, advancing India's scientific capabilities, and reminding every student that their circumstances do not define their future. He never measured success by what a person owned, but by what they contributed to society. From a small house in Rameswaram to Rashtrapati Bhavan, his journey proved that greatness does not require privilege. It requires curiosity, discipline, humility, and an unshakable belief in one's dreams. He encouraged students sitting on the last bench to dream of becoming scientists, teachers, leaders, and nation-builders. He may have left behind very few possessions, but he gave an entire generation something priceless — the courage to dream and the confidence to believe that those dreams could come true. Some people leave behind wealth. Some leave behind power. Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam left behind a vision for a stronger, more developed India. And perhaps that is the most beautiful measure of a life well lived: not how much we accumulate, but how many lives we inspire. Happy birth anniversary to the People's President, the Missile Man of India, and the teacher whose dreams continue to guide our nation. 📷📷 #APJAbdulKalam #KalamSir #MissileManOfIndia #BharatRatna #Inspiration

A livelihood crushed in moments. 💔 In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a disabled woman’s small pottery shop was demolished during a municipal anti-encroachment drive—leaving behind broken pots, shattered hopes, and years of hard work reduced to rubble. Archana Parkhe was seen trying to save her earthen pots after the JCB action, a moment that sparked emotional reactions across social media. People criticized the authorities for targeting the only source of income of a poor woman, while Bachchu Kadu demanded support and assistance for her. Rules matter. But so does humanity. Because for some people, a small shop is not just a structure… it is survival. #Maharashtra #Humanity #IndiaNews #SupportSmallBusinesses #ViralNews
