Makes no since that Paige won’t be 1st Team All WNBA with splits of 50/40/88 and Assist to Turnover ratio of 2.7. System is broke.
The problem is that too many media members are Stans rather than objective journalists. Also, ESPN being a business first, has gone all-in on the Clarkenomics train, so it panders to a base that is easy to manipulate. ESPN has lost all credibility and it’s quite sad.
TS% can be misleading because it rewards 3-point volume and FT attempts. A player can shoot a mediocre 3P% on high volume and still boost TS%, while a player who shoots fewer 3s gets less benefit. Paige isn’t a volume 3PT shooter and gets few FT attempts.

Olivia Miles for MVP glaze is especially nuts when you realize that statistically her season is (arguably) not even better than Paige Bueckers’ season…let alone Caitlin Clark’s
Paige Bueckers:
20.8 ppg
5.9 apg
51.0 FG%
40.9 3P%
Olivia Miles:
19.8 ppg
6.0 apg
49.2 FG%
38.8 3P%

This snub is about to be historical
✨Most points by a player through their first two WNBA seasons.
✨Set the WNBA record for the most 25-point, 5-rebound, 5-assist games in a single season.
✨First player in WNBA history to average 20+ points and 5+ assists while shooting 50% from the field with a 2.0+ assist-to-turnover ratio.
✨Tied the WNBA record for the most three-pointers made in a game without a miss.
✨Tied the Dallas Wings franchise record for the most assists in a game.
✨One of only four guards in WNBA history with multiple 30-point games on 70%+ shooting in a single season.
✨Led her team in both points and assists as the Wings secured the largest year-to-year win improvement in WNBA history.
How is this not an All-WNBA First Team résumé?
