Poor service @EastMidRailway Passenger Assist just told me you can’t pre-book seats together, a my family member is autism! Last time we travelled to London, it was horrific experience. We had 1st class tickes, but there won't any left, we were split up across the train! ☹️
Yesterday was spent mostly reflecting on how our stories can lead movements for change. Today I was working with amazing staff from @RoyalFreeNHS NMUH site where we talked about data teaches but it’s the stories that connect us to our share purpose!
Such an amazing day! Started meeting with my Horizons family & my social movement hero Marshall Ganz. Then a fabulous meeting with my ECIST family. Ended up with attending the #IND25 @ Westminster Abbey! I’m full of hope for future of UK nursing together we can make a difference!

So important that racism like this is talked about! We have to accept it’s uncomfortable, but we use this feeling to lead the change! @HelenBevan @marinasoltan_ bmj.com/content/389/bmj.r848

Completely agree with Alice, the stress of healthcare when you’re a mum trying to get the best for your child. I will always remember my son after his OPA ‘That’s a day in my life I will never get back again.’ Different has got to be better! #digitalNursing

There's a growing understanding of the importance of empathy (the ability to understand, share & respond to emotions/perspectives of others) for leaders. For every competency that helps a leader become more empathetic you can draw a line that connects it with a better way of delivering results.
@hacking_hr has produced a leader's "playbook" for empathy. It sets out:
- 9 strategies to build trust and a people-centric culture through empathy
- 7 ways to improve the experience of people at work through empathy
- 10 key actions for empathy-driven success in leadership
- 8 competencies of the empathetic leader
- key insights on the power of cultivating empathetic leadership at work

Completely agree @BrianwDolan your results do not define your future! I left school with 3 GCSEs, felt my word had ended but it was just the beginning! Now I have 3 degrees! @Elizafpound finished her degree with a 1st! #solvingTogether Thanks for your support Brian ☺️

"Conversation is the communal air we breathe". A summary & sketchnote of "Supercommunicators" - a new book by @cduhigg. It sets out why some people ("supercommunicators") are able to connect with others, build consensus & influence people to join them. He suggests this can be replicated. The first step is working out what kind of conversation we are having. Is it:
1) analytical (What’s this really all about?)
2) emotional (How do we feel?)
3) identity based (Who are we?).
Only after recognising what type of conversation the other person wants to have can we connect:
