The entitlement of thinking you should get permanent residency in a country because you pay a form of tax in that country is insane.
I should have permanent residency in the US, Germany, France, Belgium, Norway, Spain, Italy and plenty of other countries if this was the case.

The UK is approaching 70 million people, with roughly 17 million already aged 60+. The population is ageing, birth rates are falling and deaths are projected to outnumber births. Yet the government keeps tightening immigration rules. Who exactly do they expect to sustain the workforce, pay taxes and fund pensions in the coming decades? This short-sightedness is mind-boggling.
