What's the oldest family photo you have, and do you know everyone in it? Here is one from my family - late 1800s, I believe. I love all the details. It is 3x great-grandparents and their family, including my 2x great-grandfather. It's been fun researching my #Watkins family who came to Utah from England. #savefamilyphotos (had to repost since I didn't include my own the first time!)
What's the oldest family photograph you own, and do you know everyone in it? #familyhistory #savefamilyphotos
Someone messaged me on #FamilySearch this week with two unidentified photographs from an early-1900s scrapbook.
She wondered if the men might be members of my family.
Turns out our ancestors were neighbors.
And one of the photographs was of my great-grand-uncle, who never married or had children.
This is why I leave digital breadcrumbs in #genealogy.
Between raising kids, creating #genealogy content, community theater, and work, I sometimes feel like there just aren't enough hours.
Then @lvanderkam & @melrobbins reminded me there are 168 hours every week, and how we frame them matters.
Fridays are my new planning day. Who else does this? #168Hours youtube.com/watch?v=ccY2DaPE…
Genealogy friends: I have a family that left Großbottwar, Württemberg, for Austria in the 1850s and then seems to vanish. No obvious marriages, deaths, or later emigration records. If they were your ancestors, what would your next research steps be? Looking for fresh ideas! #Genealogy #GermanRoots
Before cloud storage, our family archives lived in lace-trimmed padded photo albums.
honestly? they were kind of iconic. #familyphotos #familyhistory
Spent the evening deep diving into the Wurttemberg, Germany family tables on Ancestry. I was able to add quite a few family members to my #familytree on #FamilySearch after cross-referencing with other records. What has been your favorite record database lately? Any discoveries?
What’s one tiny detail about your grandparents’ house you still remember vividly?
Mine is in the comments #memories #nostalgia
One of my favorite parts of family history is realizing your ancestors weren’t just “old people.” They were trendsetters, rebels, theater kids, flirts, adventurers. Case in point: my grandma and her sister wearing pants in 1940s Utah. #familyphotos
Which ancestor do you wish you could have dinner with for one hour? #familyhistory #geneaology
I love the kind of travel moments that feel completely unplanned. Like stumbling across St. Catherine’s Church in Honfleur and realizing you’re looking at centuries of history. I wish I could have gone inside since it is the largest wooden church in France.

Remembering my 2nd great uncle, Vaughn R. Kimball, this Memorial Day. He was a young husband, athlete, and serviceman from Utah who gave his life in the Pacific during WWII at just 23 years old. 🇺🇸
Some gave everything. I’d love to hear about the relatives you’re remembering today too. #MemorialDay #familyhistory
