The Reformation was more than theological debates and famous names.
It had to take root in pulpits, homes, and ordinary congregations.
Johannes Bugenhagen reminds us that lasting reform requires more than bold leaders. It requires faithful shepherds.
Conviction means little if it disappears the moment obedience becomes costly.
The Christian life requires endurance, not convenience.
William Gurnall spent decades teaching Christians how to stand against temptation, discouragement, and unbelief.
His sermons on Ephesians 6 became The Christian in Complete Armour (1655–1662).
His message endures: Stand firm, not in your own strength, but in the Lord.
Not everything old needs replacing. Many things have endured because they were built on sound principles.
Praise God for the faithfulness of these men!
I was honored to minister with courageous, faithful Canadian pastors at the Building Family & Marriages hosted by Trinity Bible Chapel in Waterloo, Ontario. From L-R: Pascal Denault, Tim Stephens, Jacob Reaume, me, James Coates, & Nate Wright. These brothers stood firm, leading their churches through government overreach during the Covid madness. Tim & James were imprisoned for their faithfulness. These men blessed Donna & me with their sermons & their examples of devotion to Christ.
Conviction is easy to profess when it costs nothing.
The true test comes when faithfulness demands sacrifice.
John Bradford understood that distinction.
His story deserves to be remembered.
A legacy of conviction. A timepiece built to honor it.

What are you chasing?
If Christ is Lord, then use the time you’ve been given for his glory.
Redeem the time. Keep Watch.
J. C. Ryle had little patience for comfortable Christianity.
His words still confront the difference between what we profess and how we live.
A warning worth hearing today.

Enjoying the calm before the storm.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed and overstimulated by the constant rambunctious noise of excited young children.
However, before my grandfather passed into glory, I asked him: “If he could experienced one thing again that he misses, what would it be.”
His response?
“To hear the pitter patter of little feet as his three children made their way through the house to the dinner table and the sounds of laughter that would echo through the house while playing.”
I often think about that, and know that one day our home will likely be much quieter, but then I’ll miss the noise.
My hope is to build a home my four children feel welcome at as long as they live, and to build them a life that allows them to live close by so that I’ll regularly hear the pitter patter of little feet as my grandchildren make their way through the house to the dinner table and the sounds of laughter that echo through the house while they play.
It’s not a collection if you only have one. 🤔
