“Everything happens here and all at once,
commuters and buskers, thronging the squares, the hubbub of commerce and labour”
St Martins Sq in Brum.
The council need to get out the chisel given they’ve banned busking.

Thank you to @sarahjradio for having me on her show today.
It's unfortunately a rarity in these sort of media appearances to be given the time to speak in detail, but that's exactly what I was allowed to do this morning.

This comes into play on Friday.
No engagement with the busking community, and the Councillor pushing it misled the council over its scope, which has been confirmed by one of their colleagues.
I have registered an official complaint for a breach of the Nolan principles

Birmingham Council are about to pass a busking ban that they have been told does not ban busking. Either @TennantJamie has deliberately misled the council, or he has also not read the proposals

The council’s idea of engagement is to tell us what they propose then construct questions around their proposals then tell us how it will be.
We’ve suggested compromises over the years on the previous #PSPO #BuskingBan and this one - all ignored.

I'm concerned that @tennantjamie, who spoke yesterday in favour of the PSPO in Birmingham, doesn't understand its scope. He claims that it only targets 'excessive noise' (from 33m). This is untrue, and I urge Jamie to read the proposals carefully 1/

Rather sad to hear an announcement on a @TfL train instructing passengers not to support buskers.
They can create their restrictive, closed-shop busking 'schemes' all like - but they are no friend of buskers

Busking isn’t the problem in Edinburgh it’s part of the city and makes part of the Edinburgh experience. The problem is the amount of homeless people who all seem to have veteran numbers, as well as the same ladies that have had to feed their children for the past 20 years.

I don't get people who walk buy someone busking, performing amazingly beautiful music on the street and they just keep walking by, one after the next.
I realize we all got places to go and be, but still.
Missing out on a few moments of amazing life you can never get back?
