Many know Philadelphia for our robust sports scene and passionate fans (some might say a bit too passionate!). But we also have a world class orchestra and performing arts center. Conductors and soloists from around the world jump at the opportunity to perform here.

People have asked me for years about the origin of our other mascot for the Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball team..a celery stalk. Did this video from Major League Baseball get the legend right? 😉😶😎 mlb.com/video/meet-mr-celery

"LBI" stand for Long Beach Island, an 18 mile long sandy barrier island at the Jersey Shore that is so narrow at some points that the ocean and bay are only blocks apart. This is NOT the "Jersey Shore" of television fame. Although along the same coast, worlds apart. Chill.

Honored to join former student and Temple Law alumnus Sam Finkel at awards ceremony honoring him as a "30 Under 30." One of only 30 alumni from entire University--thousands of graduates--to receive recognition as standouts in their respective fields, him in the sports industry.

Always excited for Opening Day for my team, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, a high A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. Last night was no exception. A lopsided loss but a beautiful Spring evening at the ballpark and the post-game fireworks were, as usual, the best anywhere.

I try to include my students in as many Sports Law Program events as possible. When I put out a call for volunteers to assist with the reception to celebrate the launch of the charitable foundation I organized for Julius "Dr. J" Erving and his wife Dorys, they didn't disappoint.

Prof. Jacobsen is among those urging review of baseball's exemption from federal antitrust laws. "Should any business … that enjoys a monopoly be immune from the antitrust laws? Or do they have to operate their businesses within those laws?'' bit.ly/4qYPJ7E

Favorite image from my time working with Phillies champion Shane Victorino--"The Flyin Hawaiian"--on his charitable foundation and public appearances. Visit to a local high school. Packed house. Shane brought this young fan up on stage. Just a precious moment. Class act.

Looking forward to returning to Taiwan to teach and lecture on International Sports Law. Attentive students and engaged faculty at National Taiwan University. Owners of Taiwan professional baseball teams were gracious hosts throughout my stay. University team practice.

Grading law school papers and exams at my home in Italy, north of Venice. 🇮🇹 Nothing but vineyards surround our small village of Spilimbergo. The gated medieval city is where I get my coffee in the morning and aperitivo before dinner. Happy Holidays! Peace, joy and health.

One year ago today — from the Temple Lawl School symposium where we discussed House v NCAA and the future of college sports. It was a great event, and Ken Jacobsen was a kind and wonderful host.
